Today was a good day for sport... Linfield my most hated of all clubs were playing at home to the bottom club ards, Linfield are top of the league and apart from last season when they were shit win the league most season.

Tonight they so 3-1 up after 40 mins... I cry. Poor Ards. Final whistle blows with the score 3-3

They're still going to win the league and Ards are still going to finish last but who cares.

Ards aren't but most of the Linfield first team are pros. And yes it's the N. Irish league. Haven't been to a game in over a year, talk about boring. Love making fun of linfield fans but they're the sort that would kick your teeth in.

it's not over for falcao. with a lot of luck, he can be there just on time. I really hope it works for him, I like the cafeteros. Really unfair...
It was in the french cup against some amateurs. Ludovic Giuly is now playing for that team (he started playing football there so he wanted to have a little fun in this 5th division club before retirering completely, and they did extremely well in cup going till the last 32). Basically I heard the guy who did the injury o the radio... he really felt like shit, really an unlucky tackle that ended up in a bad injury. The guy who did this is receiving a lot of death threats and stuff like that... It's really unfortunate.

Apparently we just rejected a £3mil bid from West Ham for McCormack, but they will make another bid. If we were a Premiership team he'd go for £10mil. I hope he sticks around to the end of the season and then, if we don't at least get to thw play-of finals, I would accept him leaving.

Was lucky enough to see him playing live in Peru, one of the best around at the moment. Will be hugely missed for Colombia... there goes my outside bet.

And no BALE? LOL we'll ever see him at a WC. Like Giggs and Best, not all top players are lucky enough to be born in a country that has other good players.

again: he is not out for sure. he'll get operated this week, give it at least 2-3 month to put the leg on the ground and from then on you can be sure he'll do everything to get back in shape. i'd bet that he will be at the world cup, not at 100%, but he will be there

Yes I'd say around half who care would want Ireland to win, maybe a little less. Myself included... as long as they keep playing the English national anthem before a game I'll want them to lose every single one of them.

Actually I'd much rather see a united Ireland football team, just like in rugby, cricket and unofficially hockey. Ireland are good at beating the little teams while N. Ireland can't beat Luxemburg but they can beat Russia and draw with Portugal twice. They've also beaten England and Spain in semi recent years. Ireland haven't beaten any top side since Portugal and Holland to reach the 2002 world cup.

For sure they would qualify for more major tournaments... that is after the civil war of course

but yeah... I've always wondered how come irish teams are so ridiculously bad? I seriously can't name you a single club from ireland. I know more clubs from albania or belarus or moldova... And Irish people love football right? and their national team is decent.. so what is wrong with your clubs??

It's been talked about before, they tried having a cup between the two league, think they still run it but it never really took off. Winter league in the north (don't ask me why) and summer league in the south so they could never agree when to hold it.

We have decent players. both nations but they don't come through the Irish clubs, they go to England or Scotland as teenagers and try to play there. All comes down to money, the Irish leagues don't any to invest in training facilities for youth development and the grounds they play at here are pretty crap as well.

Don't remember Shelbourne? They reached the last qualifying round of the CL and drew 0-0 with Deportivo... lost 4-0 on agg but still.

There is one N. Irish team playing in the Irish league... Derry City, not sure when they moved over but as the biggest Catholic side in the north it's not surprising.

Irish football will never progress... The Republic will continue to qualify for the odd tournament and The North will not. Both leagues will continue to suck and have no money. That's why we all look to England for a team to support. Although I watched more Italian football growing up and was a big Juve fan.

They just carried on in the league they were in already only under FA jurisdiction.Did you know there is a Spanish side playing in the French league system?In a lower league obviously.

Andorra football teams play in spain, and monaco as you all know in france. Andorra is a bit more spanish than french culturally, and monaco quite more french than italian.
