That's where he was at before this all started unfortunately. I think it would be hilarious if he was reset to the lowest score after rapidly finishing his losing games, but obviously that won't happen.trevor33 wrote:Should have had his score reset to zero for being a prick... waht punishment is it to go back to 2800?

He has basically recieved no punishment for this, hey no worries about that $5 million you stole from our bank, we'll just take the money back and you can go on your way. Obviously one is a game and another is a serious crime but both results are the same - do a bad thing and get no punishment, what's going to happen when the next person does it to get their lulz and a couple of days on top of the scoreboard? Has to be the same non-punishment as TheCrown got.iAmCaffeine wrote:That's where he was at before this all started unfortunately. I agree with BG here. If you put him at 1000, the same thing will happen...he'll take too many points from his opponents and we'll have a similar (though not as extreme) situation.trevor33 wrote:He went back to where he was after doing something wrong, that's not a punishment, that's brushing it under the carpet and pretending nothing happened. Fair point about how it would affect his opponents but taking just 500 points off wouldn't have much effect on his future oppoent, a point here and there... agree sending him down to zero would be extreme but going back to his orginal score is just letting him off with it.

The way it is now it's like nothing had happaned, how is that going to deter others from doing this knowing they can have their couple of days on top of the leader borad and just go back to how it was before? I'd expect about 500 points to be kncoked off his score, just as a symbolic gesture more than anything. He was stripped of awards he wasn't entitled to, that's not a punishment.BGtheBrain wrote:His score was reset to pre-infraction activity. He was stripped of the medal he obtained. Everything was done in accordance to the guidelines. The medal stripping, prize eligibility, and partial score reset were additional punishments.
I dont know what else could be done.
The punishment is moving up the Major Infraction Scale. Do you think that his actions are more significant than other Major Infractions and should be dealt with differently or do you think that the Major Infraction system isn't harsh enough?trevor33 wrote:The way it is now it's like nothing had happaned, how is that going to deter others from doing this knowing they can have their couple of days on top of the leader borad and just go back to how it was before? I don't have any knowledge of the Major Infraction system but i do feel that this case could and should have been dealt with differently, lets face it when has anyone else caused such a stir in the forums and just had his score reset and non-deserved awards removed?spiesr wrote:The punishment is moving up the Major Infraction Scale. I guess you just don't believe in second chances? Can't remember off hand... I think the punishment is sufficient. Thecrown spent 18 hours a day to accomplish nothing. I really don't mind if other idiots will spent almost an entire day to accomplish nothing but a serious warning, and I don't think anyone will try this anymore.trevor33 wrote:The way it is now it's like nothing had happaned, how is that going to deter others from doing this knowing they can have their couple of days on top of the leader borad and just go back to how it was before? Here you are wrong. This strategy is well known and has been used before. Players have been punished for this abuse also in the past.codeblue1018 wrote:There has been Conquerors that achieved their score through shenanigans as well and still have their Conqueror medal; will they be stripped; no they won't. This case shouldn't be any different. The top score was achieved in this case and was done in an extreme way that most of us do on a daily basis or have done in the past; whether done once or a thousand times, the end result should be the same throughout the community. I don't condone TheCrown's actions in any way, however, he found a means to reach the top by a strategy that he discovered fruitful. The only violation I personally see in this case is the "hostage holding" in several games, which should only require a warning if he hasn't received any infractions previously. If there were any evidence of his clanmates throwing games, I assume the MODS would have mentioned that and held TheCrown and his clanmates responsible. He should have been able to keep his score and medal.
As I mentioned mate, some conquerors still hold their medal; GLG - the sites biggest, habitual violator. The type of practice that TheCrown displayed is done on a daily basis by many, many people to a small degree, which is why it's not a topic of discussion. It only became relevant in this case as it was done in an extreme manner.frankiebee wrote:Here you are wrong. This strategy is well known and has been used before. Past conquerors used different schemes to get to the top rank to, but most of them also lost their medal or never got one. (Kiron, Warsteiner)
This is the list of current conquerors, IMO every player deserves that medal except for GLG:

I don't think this is a valid argument. I'm going to use an analogy that you as an American will hopefully easily understand.codeblue1018 wrote:There has been Conquerors that achieved their score through shenanigans as well and still have their Conqueror medal; will they be stripped; no they won't.
