This construction seems to imply that since X can also happen elsewhere without Y occurring, then it's silly to get annoyed about X when Y has happened. But if Y led to X, you can't ignore it. Surely there is no "also"? To illustrate, here is a real-life application:

No, he is off the top of the monthly board because he won the majority of his games in November and the boards reset for December.

You sir, are wrong. He ended the december scoreboard with 4500 points or so, Im not sure, after the board resetted he gained massive power score points because his start score was really high and he still had some winstreak game lefts. On the 2nd of december he allready had 15.000+ power score for december. Yes, in 1 day.

It appears that some feel it is a foul (cheat), some manipulation and others feel it is legitimate.

I have read most of the posts, I think you guys are making too much of it.
Being that Mods are allowed to play the game and hold title (medal, points, champion), the fact that he is a mod is irrelevant.
Being that many players are confused with this, maybe the rules should be clarified.

Even though I do not really (totally) understand what the problem is and what it is most of you are bellyaching about.
Can somebody explain to me...and I will try to do the same thing.
How many of you can accomplish this feat.

To do this repeatedly is Gross Abuse of the Game. The following has been done to the accused:

Disqualified him from the Monthly Scoreboard Prizes
Disqualified him from the Conquer Medal
Issued a warning for a Major/Severe Infraction (Gross Abuse of the Game)
Reduction of his score back to 2866 (basing this from Game 13596571 where it most likely began).

To any of you who may have plans to do any kind of similar schemes, save yourself from future disciplinary actions and just play the game. We are all here to have fun and enjoy the games. When I first saw this case I had pretty much the same opinion that you do. However, as I've learned more about it, I've found out that he didn't just "delay" the games in the normal sense of prolonging his turns (as everyone has a right to do) but rather by deliberately not ending games that were definitely over. By accumulating a lot of games that were effectively over and un-naturally prolonging them, he accumulated a stable of finished games that he could then harvest all at once. Sort of like necromancy: accumulating an army of undead games and then launching them at the scoreboard all at once. It did constitute exploiting the scoring system.

I won the games as hard as I could and as someone said if we found a chink in The Crowns armour - he got his nuts for ear-muffs.
But as I have said before I'm just a new noob - we are treated with contempt and viewed as the proverbial shit on someone's shoe in CC.

I found it odd that they didn't reference the hostage games. To be honest I think what Crown did would have been perfectly legal if the games were not held hostage (whether the other person was a willing hostage or not). The only hole I found in his defense was the games where he just dropped when his opponent held only 1 region. I can't name how many times I'm playing an opponent in series of 5 and they will hold off playing their wins in the series and play their losses first to get the best out of me in points.

The difference is that when you play a series of 5 games, it's kinda cheap and nasty to do it. When you play 700 games with only clanmates, it becomes gross abuse.

2000 of these 4000 games, are 1v1 games.
if hostage is something allowed, now answer below of my questions...

1v1 game, i am winning... Do i have the ability to hold that game NON ENDED forever ?
I deploy, end, block enemy, then enemy/opponent can not do anything....Unless opponent deadbeats, i can keep that WON game ongoing for years.
So, since i have 2000 won 1v1 games, tell me, did i have that option to keep those games for years then in a sudden i go for the win in all 2000 games....
assume the score uphill rise, avarage point i may get from a game say it is 6-7 points.... 6 * 2000 = 12000 points at one day or two... To make it, one doesnt need to stay 7/24 online.

A C&A mod should answer this, but I think this still would be abuse of the scoreboard. Maybe we have to change something about how points are calculated... But Im not really sure what.
