There. Go create your own damn forum with your moronic Spamalot thread, stop whining and move on.
No it won't be the same. We're also a part of conquerclub. And This is the place where we all met. And we would like new players here to notice us and join us (if they seem cool) too.
kwanton wrote:However, I believe AK was completely within his rights to delete the thread. Both sides had good arguments but it is ultimately at a moderator's discretion what threads to delete. This whole argument was about whether or not AK was "bullying" members of Spamalot and abusing his powers to further his personal agenda. Again, the ultimate decision is up to the mod. The means in which these events transpired may paint AK in a bad light and the fact that he specifically targeted a group of people was wrong, I'll give you that, but mods are granted power to use at their discretion so I'll repeat: AK was completely within his rights to delete the thread.
Well, the thing is, was AK in his rights to delete Spamalot? Just because somebody has the power to do such a thing doesn't mean they can use it at will. Maybe (and I think probably) AK was letting his emotions affect his moderating decision. He wasn't using his good judgment, and if he was, it would have been a thread that nobody cared about, and we wouldn't be having this problem.
So again, was AK within his rights to delete that thread?
In heaven... Everything is fine, in heaven... Everything is fine, in heaven... Everything is fine... You got your things, and I've got mine.

I believe that if AK had consulted either you (hecter) or Vincent before deleting it, and had at least given us a warning, it would have been within his rights as a moderator.

I agree with Cynthia
all the new clans that can't technically create a new clan do this, and it works quite well. just post the link in your signature or something. if any newbies browse the forums at all, i'm sure they'll see it, as many posts as you all make
Well if it was a thread no one cared about then the message of "Don't spam" wouldn't get across to people. Sure it is assumed that AK deleted his thread based on his own personal biases(sp? that doesn't look right...o well) but maybe he decided to delete the thread based on a legit reason and decided to have fun with it's members before hand. The "fun" and "jokes" are definitely not mod-like behavior there's no getting around that. But you can't assume that AK didn't have a legit reason for locking the thread with the personal vendetta as a side reason.
If there is proof that AK did not have any legitimate reason whatsoever to delete the thread then lay it on me. I will gladly relent this point and maybe come up with another one at a later time.

Well, according to his own words, he was pushed to far. If that doesn't sound like it was personal, then I don't know what does.

Hmmm OK then I consent. That does seem like a personal reason then. But the truth of the matter is AK will always claim that he deleted the thread for legit modsquad reasons and Spamalot members will always say it was for a personal vendetta. I learned of these events through second-hand posts (as did most people) and I can't really say one way or the other. However most of the eveidence points to AK being in the wrong. Congrats hecter and spamalot you've presented your case well.
Whatever tho this is just my personal opinion, and as such it doesn't count for much.
Good bye and good riddance, Spam-a-lot is nothing more than a collection of horrid little creatures. Feeding their inflated egos by inflicting themselves on others over and over and over... again.

That is why Andy has taken over. We say that he was out-of-bounds, he says he was perfectly within his bounds. So, we bring in a mediator, which is Andy.

Ironically unintelligent posts which flame spam are just as bad as spam......go figure....

thank you for that lovely, intelligent response to our debate. It is greatly appreciated.
if you want to flame us, at least spell Spamalot right.
and do it in the flame wars section (there is already a nice, long thread about us in there)
Oh come on. That wasn't spamming. Well it wasn't exactly a post with great content either but posts like that is fine with me
Only spam that bothers me is if one person posts 4 posts after one another instead of editing, and when they post n00bish stuff like "u hav no lyfe" Anyone recognize that line? Aww..
Genghis Khan CA wrote:Um, don't know about anyone else, but I come to this site to play a risk-based world domination game... Surely there are other places on the internet where you can spam?
I would rather the resources of the site be directed to maintaining and improving gameplay, rather than being used up to maintain the forums. Whether spamalot is here or gone is of no consequence to me, but I am happy with the way this site is run, if you don't like the forum policy then I suggest you enjoy the game and post elsewhere.
Just my two cents...
Well that and, get a life I suppose. So much hand-wringing over a snazzy little clique formed in honor of, by definition, useless posts.

"Get a life" he says as he posts in a forum for a site dedicated to the playing of a board game, which was made in the 1950's, over the internet. No one here has a life sir. Get used to it.
