well so it looks like we have to worry about people being recruited, rather than killed at night, it makes this game harder as we don't know who we can trust as anybody could have been recruited,
as to spiesr being the recruiter doubt it as the daycop showed us his role, so unless he is way overpowered it is extremely unlikely that spiesr is the recruiter,
as to spiesr having been recruited its possible but wouldn't a seasoned player have known that if they recruited spiesr that he would be the first one town would suspect? so its possible that spiesr was recruited last night,
but i think the more important question is who is the recruiter, if all we as town do is kill the recruitees the recruiter will win because they will simply recruit another each night. as to who the recruiter is not sure, though anarks case against lootifer well seems plausible
though anark you missed this tidbit that i found interesting

Lootifer wrote:
kratos644 wrote:Why should you believe I'm not scum? Well I'll tell you why. Because when I brought up that maybe there was a mafia recruiter instead of a cult it was less of a maybe and more of a I couldn't give specific details until day 2. Now that it is day 2 though I'm happy to share those details. I can confirm that there was only 1 mafia at the start of day 1. But I couldn't confirm that for everyone else until day 2. There is probably at least one other person with this ability maybe more but they won't be able to share until their specific days as well.

Also, now I won't look crazy when I say I kind of believe that spiesr is actually the recruiter and he had a power that was similar to innocent child except he wasn't actually innocent and it gave him a power role claim instead. If I'm totally off about this it would be nice if the day cop used their power again to show that this isn't the case. Otherwise, I think spiesr is our recruiter and as a result I will also vote spiesr.

I can vouch for this story as I have similar (but not the same and kratos will know why it wont be the same) information. Hence why I am sure there is a recruiter at play. The fact that Kratos is number 1 makes my 100% more of a 110%.

Also I was voting on a different theory. I dont believe Spiesr to be the recruiter, I believe him to be the recruitee. Voting him isnt the best way to win the game, we will win by finding the recruiter, but at this stage its my firmest lynch target. This is because finding out his death scene would likely provide useful information. Regardless I dont think we can trust his information regarding his investigation ability for now :(

I urge the daycop not to use it on Spiesr for now.

so we are told that you are a vanilla townie, but then you say that you have information about their being a mafia recruiter, vanilla townies don't get that kind of information, unless the mod has decided to switch things up, generally speaking a vanilla townie just has the ability to vote during the day and thats it. so something is off here, and i'm willing to buy anarks theory that lootifer is the recruiter who recruited spiesr night 1 then had spiesr post lootifers role so that he would be semicleared in town's eyes, so i will vote lootifer

Yes I did, and you guys have already seen that no role so far is standard, so I was hoping that activity would be above normal standards. And on that note- I will not be prodding Colton any longer, the next consecutive 48 hours he doesn't post (unless it is night), he will he replaced. He has had two prods already, and that's more than generous.

Vote count will come soon.

Arggghhh my heads about to explode with all the implications a foot.

I have spent ages typing up a post going back and forth on things but I have run out of time, I need to get out and do stuff. I will have to revisit my post later tonight. Sorry about that guys.

One thing I would like to say though: Daycop, whoever you are, can you please not use your ability untill Colton posts or gets replaced. This will ensure that scum do not get any insight into the daycops location. (unless of course daycop is scum and then meh, disregard this request as you see fit).

Lootifer, trying to claim at L-3, in a 9 player day. vote Lootifer he seems scared, almost, as if he has something to hide ...

The votes dont bother me, its just that Spiesr has gone ahead and claimed for me; all that is left for me to do is confirm he is correct and explain my role since people dont seem to think VTs should ever have anything but daytalk and voting abilities. I think one of the important things I want to get on the record by claiming is that Spiesrs results were accurate.

I am a vanilla townie #X*. I was told that on day X* there would be X* mafia alive (X is intentionally the same number I think), I was not allowed to disclose this information until day 2.

The reason I was asking for people who had similar information earlier on was an attempt to form a town bloc compromising of VTs - I saw little risk in this because we only had information, not abilities, and therefore popping up and saying they had information would be low risk for town as a whole. It may put a target on our heads, but I figured it was far better to have VTs with targets over their heads than PRs.

The other posts Anark pulls out as suspicious can be explained by the fact that I had supplementary information as described above.

* I have purposefully left out what number I am. This is because it may give me the ability to identify a fakeclaim at a later date.

Now some thoughts and questions...

I will say that I dont think lynching Spiesr is a good idea. He is still my number one scum "read" (thought its not really a read). I unvoted above, but it may very well come back onto him if we have no one better to lynch. My reasoning is thus:

Recruiting Spiesr was a WIFOM situation. As the only confirmed PR he is a very tasty looking recruit target, but consequently once we all become aware there's a recruiter he will also become number one scum suspect.

However, he appears to still have his night ability as he correctly identified me. Now I was thinking that recruited people would not keep their abilities so initially I cleared Spiesr in my mind, but after consideration I have no idea how James has decided this game will work - you know what they say about assuming things... I dont think he is the recruiter though, that seems a little far-fetched.

So far I am feeling he is town though, just the couple of comments he has made today read as town to me. I think the best way to handle him at this stage is dont lynch him, but assume he's scum. In other words: there are very strong cases/reasons both ways; Scum recruits a power role, or scum leaves a power role and lets town lynch one of their own. That doesnt help my position much, but it cant be helped.

Anark wrote:I'm going to start the day with a Vote: Kratos...

Why should I believe you aren't scum?

A better question would be, what possible reason would you have to think Kratos is scum? Just pondering your motive for asking this question.

If all the Vanilla Townies were to be identified then the scum would know who all the power roles are as well, just not which role belongs to which.

If all the Xs are the same then it doesn't matter which number it is, as they all would mean the same thing.

Anyhow is X is any number other than 1 the implications of this would a be huge. As the mod telling you something about how many scum there will be on a future Day would mean that either he is lying or that there is no way to stop that from being the case apart from ending the game before that Day is reached.
I need to think on this.

Correct, and no where did I say it was a particularly good strategy; it was just my thinking at the time. Hindsight is a wonderful thing... hopefully I havent endangered our PRs too badly.

I need to think on this.

I am not vanilla townie #1. My X is some number greater than 1. On day 1 (and maybe even on day 2... or not ;)) I knew how many scum were going to be in the game at some future point in time.

I came to the same conclusion (about recruiting being unpreventable) and hence why I have been so keen to avoid the daycop being wasted as it could be one of our only chances to win the game.

Anark can you to answer my question? That attack out of the gate on Kratos reads as quite scummy to me.

I dont know, just assumed. might be wrong, but seemed logical.

Well anarkist, a strong case you have got there.

Besides some of the arguments made by lootifier contradict knowledge I think I have.
So Vote Lootifier.

dont have problems with a daycop investigating lootifier. a confirmed towny would be nice. just 1 question about the machanics of the game: Would a investigative report of a daycop show a recruited player as scum or as the original role? in other words would it be usefull?

One question I have, that the mod may not be willing to answer, is if there were a recruiter, would he have been able to speak with his recruitee already or would he have to wait until night 2? All hypothetical of course because the mod wouldn't want to confirm or deny the existence of a recruiter.
