How to Use BOB

Post by Al B. Damned »

Ok ... so I loaded Tampermonkey in Chrome and then loaded BOB. However, I see nothing. The script is enabled (according to Tampermonkey's dashboard) but I see nothing related to BOB. Should I be seeing a BOB menu or something?

Ok ... it appears to be a problem with the update. I backed down to 5.1.4 and I now see the Bob menu.

Seeing as very few users are complaining about BOB right now, it is probably your installation that is flawed, rather than the script. Here is a sequence of steps that has been known to work (if you do not use the Clickable Maps add-on ("clickies"), then just ignore the related stuff.
- Uninstall BOB and clickies.
- Leave all the other API-associated addons on there as Chrome extensions.
- Install TamperMonkey (from the Chrome store). (Check to make sure it is in extensions and running.)
- Install clickies from userscripts.org, okay the TamperMonkey installation, and allow the next popup about website URLs something. (Check to make sure it was in TamperMonkey and enabled (by clicking TamperMonkey icon to the direct right of the address bar in Chrome then selecting Dashboard, you'll see the script listed w/ a number in a circle). Then sign into CC and check to make sure it showed up there.)
- Install BOB following the same steps.

You may want to uninstall Tampermonkey before all this, just to start clean.

Okay ... thanks for the help. I ended up having to completely uninstall Chrome and reinstall Chrome, TamperMonkey and Bob ... but Bob's working now.

Sorry to hear it took all that, but glad to hear it's working.
