I'm not doing that bad as a freemium, can only play so many games and don't have the patience to wait more than 24 hours per turn

Uckuki always plays under the radar, but I remember checking into a tournament standard game today to see that he had it all wrapped up. He goes about his work with the dedication of craftsman, and I consider my greatest victory a sudden death series versus him. He consistently outclasses me in any game I play with him.

I second the danryan nomination.

Deli is another strong player in both team and standard games.

I've been very impressed with Janomike, too.

mc05025 is scary good as well.

There are other players who are masters of team or standard play, but those five are who I think of when I think of well-rounded players.

Yep, Dan knows his stuff..I had the fortunate luck to be under his leadership when he ran the O&H clan back in the day. He certainly knows the game and how to win in every situation.

So looks like Dan is the man Should have a conqueror's medal for all-round ability

CoF can't play freestyle.

I nominate Iron Maid. He plays a ton of different game types, wins and runs tourneys, and his avatar is not too shabby.

Glad Great Ollie gets a mention. I had a phase of playing speedgames a lot. And at that time he used to run all sorts of games on all sorts of settings, all at the same time. He could give me a run for my money on classic sequential esc, whilst playing an arms race, an age of realms and a doodle assassin at the same time. Was amazing.

Only played 1 game ever with mc so I cant comment. (btw that game was won by jsnyder, who is an excellent sequential player. If you hold general from playing freestyle, then you can be shedding any amount of points, doesnt mean you are bad, just means you are lower than general and shed gradually points over a long period of time.)

great ollie is really the only person I know that can play any game any setting. Nukes, freestyle, speed included. And I've even played assassins with him which most people don't play that have been listed.

That was exactly my point. I am glad someone else sees it hahah. I am not saying he is the best at every setting, but he is definitely the most well rounded. He is a terror in most if not all settings.

I suppose a lot of players can play any settings with anyone at any map. The question is who can play all of them really really good. In other words which player can play any demanding (in terms of strategy) settings exclucively (ie not playing 10 quads and lose from them 200 points and at the same time playing 20 freestyle and gain 200 points holding the 4000 points) with anyone and hold a good rank (at least general even if I think there are players including myself that can have more than 4000 points by playing almost any kind of strategic demanding games).

The debate should be if the speed and the freestyle should be included at the 'demanding' settings. Both of them demand of course a special very complicated gameplay but on the other hand they both demand something that has nothing to do with strategy skills (speed games demand fast internet and freestyle demands to be online a lot). I do not have fast internet and so I will never be very good at speed games while other players are online too few hours and so they will never be good at freestyle.

I never understood why some people think freestyle games are shown the skill of a player.
In my opinion it is a way of cheating other players ( and especially those who don't know the game that well), i know that you guys will not agree since i have read your thoughts but i am sure that you know what i mean.
This game called risk has nothing to do with speed ( if it is 3-4-5 minutes it is ok but if it is 1-2 minutes per turn then the guy with clickable maps, a fast internet-sometimes i wait some seconds to see the attack results while the dices keep rolling- can win most of the 1vs1 games if not the bad dice beat him).
So, in conclusion , the best player should be the guy who can play great at all team games in almost every map/settings and he is very good at standard 6-7-8players escalating games.I say either cof or Scott-land.

This thread is so subjective it is laughable , one of the players mentioned would be close to bottom of my list In truth there is no strongest overall player and probably never has been though I agree with others that Poo was exceptional across all formats , M Hennigan deserves a mention also in that respect.
I have to say that I have found a lot of good freestyle players to be near hopeless when it comes to sequential , and I , for example , have neither the computer speed or inclination to be logged in 24 / 7 ,to be anything but a total noob at freestyle.

not sure about about the greatest overall but shoop76 and babagonosh consistently do well in tournaments against allcomers. those 2 i dread facing.
