Arnar Freyr Adalsteinsson, one of the trio, said it allows any two Icelanders to see how closely related they are, simply by touching phones.
"A small but much talked about feature is the loosely translated 'Incest Prevention Alarm' that users can enable through the options menu which notifies the user if the person he's bumping with is too closely related," Adalsteinsson said.
Currently available for Android phones, it has been downloaded almost 4,000 times since it was launched earlier this month. The creators also hope to develop an iPhone version.
Well technically incest is with parents or siblings. You can legally procreate with your cousins. If you don t even know you re related to a person it s that you are 3rd or 4th degree cousin, I know all my second degree cousins more or less and I have over 100..
If you guys fell in love with a second degree cousin would you not even consider it if the feelings were shared? It s wierd but still kind of acceptable I think. 1st cousin is gross, also you kind of grow up with them. You have a maximum (and with impossible probabilities) 12.5% shared genetics with a second cousin. Out of this, you need to both transmit at the same time one of your possible fucked up gene.
