And if Community ever bores me:

I probably won't remember either in the actual scenario, and I'll probably say something along the lines of "no", or "you..."

That's not really your last words, more like what you'd like to happen when you die. Even your last thoughts would be more interesting to hear than your wishful thinking of what happens when you die.

No.

Edit: Also, it's NOT what I'd like to happen when I die.
I don't want reincarnation nor do I want permanent death...
But those are the only two possibilities. Most atheists lean toward the permanent death scenario.
I, however, keep both options open as I believe it's simply a matter of whether or not matter is infinitely perpetually small. (Having a base particle or not.)
I'm leaning towards reincarnation because I view it simply as just re-configuring into another life form after what could potentially be the shortest time it takes to develop a sentient being or... up to an eternity.
The theory I've devised independently of anyone else's theory is pretty simple. (Though it was directly influenced by my philosophy professor that discussed the concept of souls with me.) It also might not be a unique idea... there are numerous philosophers with utterly ingenious thoughts and theories (IMO, anyway) that predate me. My idea was also slightly refined thanks to Saxitoxin, who informed me that consciousness was a matter of reactions in the brain. (More-or-less.)
The premise is that we are constantly changing, physically (matter coming and going... I don't mean size and shape) and mentally and yet we are still ourselves.
With that said, we can deduct that there is a constant factor, somewhere inside of us that makes us, us.
What I am getting at has generally been labelled a soul... however, the concept of a soul does not comply with a naturalistic view of reality.
There must be some physical part or piece that this individuality/uniqueness comes from.
I have made a very big jump in logic with my deductive skills, but I would argue that it makes sense.
Quite simply, I took and applied the idea that a being is controlled by a smaller portion of itself, contained within itself.
I looked at multicellular organisms. Namely those that are apparently sentient. Most (saying this for correct-ness... if not all) sentient organisms have a brain. The brain controls the body.
I then looked down to the level of the individual cell. Inside the cell there is a nucleus. While the cell and the nucleus is not quite an analogy to the body and brain, I feel like this is quite possibly a trend that could potentially go as far down as matter goes...
That being said, I have come up with the idea that there is a "gate-way particle" of sorts, that, by definition, is you.
(Everything else is just an add-on.)
I believe this gate-way particle lies somewhere in the brain... I'm thinking the brain stem, specifically.

In any case. With "souls" having an actual, physical source, it is only a matter of configuration of matter as to whether "you" surface as the controller of a sentient being or not. If you get what I mean.

I think I've said my theory before on the forums but probably not written out quite like this or anywhere near as articulated.
Do you guys have any thoughts on it? :o

Also, thank fucking god for browsers saving content of a previous page... I was apparently logged out when I hit submit. /supermegatrollface

I remember reading of some guy claiming that his grandad, who apparently was lucid, wanted to speak to him before he passed and told him that the person who he thought was his mother was actually his grandmother and that his 16 years older "sister" was his real mother. The guy said he hadn't had the guts to confront his family about this yet but he thought there was a good chance it was true.

I'm just thinking, it'd be one hell of a last prank to play on someone.
