The lists of players and teams have been updated.

Dukasaur and I are in the process of discussing possible editing of the format to allow for more players. So far, the interest has been high--12 teams and 45 players!

Stay tuned for more details, and if you want your team to have a name, be sure to send me a message. ;)

I guess I should serve notice that just like last year, I will waive my usual rule of not playing in my own tournaments and I will play on DoomYoshi's team.

I'm alone, but will play if theres other singles!
Dice stats are irrelevant. If I roll the same amount of 6's as everyone else, but my opponents role 6's at the same time, that's what matters, what's rolled opposite my dice. How about how many total guys I've won and lost while attacking?

We will close registrations on the 20th regardless of whether we have 16 or not. If we have to go with 14 teams it's perfectly okay.

There haven't been any new sign-ups this week, so I think we've reached our limit. I've marked this FULL.

We are going forward with 14 teams. First round will be two groups of 7, every team plays six games simultaneously. Top four in each group advance, second round every team plays seven games.

The Chief Operating Officer will be [player]WorldCup4James[/player].

Christmas Eve has come and all six games for your team's opening round have been created!

Alas, in 24 hours, the white-bearded Santa will be flying by, laughing as he observes us all fighting over those presents on CC's revered Christmas map. But be sure to use the holiday spirit to lead your team to victory!

Of course, a nice handful of heroic intensity cubes in all your stockings couldn't hurt!

Anyway, as there are 14 teams, two divisions of seven teams were formed; the teams in each group were determined randomly using random.org, as follows. Some players chose a team name, while others did not (as a result, numbered team names were given).
Teams

 • 1. Team 1
 • 2. Team 2
 • 3. Team 3
 • 4. Team 4
 • 5. Yule Lose
 • 6. Santa's Drunken Elves
 • 7. The Honey Baked Hams
 • 8. Team 8
 • 9. Team 9
 • 10. The Reindeer Rapists
 • 11. Team 11
 • 12. Jolly Jingle Bells
 • 13. Team 13
 • 14. Team 14

Randomization by atmospheric noise using the Sequence Generator was performed once and only once.

Random Sequence Generator

Here is your sequence:

3 10
6 7
12 11
4 5
13 9
14 1
2 8

Timestamp: 2012-12-24 07:36:56 UTC

The numbers in the leftmost column represent those teams in Division A, while the numbers in the rightmost column represent those teams in Division B.

As a result,
Division A

1. Team 3
2. Santa's Drunken Elves
3. Jolly Jingle Bells
4. Team 4
5. Team 13
6. Team 14
7. Team 2

Division B

1. The Reindeer Rapists
2. The Honey Baked Hams
3. Team 11
4. Yule Lose
5. Team 9
6. Team 1
7. Team 8
Only the distinguished top 4 from each division will move on to the finals!

Good luck everyone, and be sure to have a merry Christmas!

James

Pretty good: looks like most people joined their games on the first try. Thekidstrumpet missed 1 invite, and sisumofo missed 5. All have been re-sent.

in the OP you've got one of our (honey baked hams) game numbers wrong.

it's the first set in our string of games. you have game 70 when it should be 71.

no biggie, just thought you may want to fix it.

Twenty days strong into the new year, and our opening stage is complete! The seemingly endless fight for the presents under the tree and across the advent calendar has finished, but only 8 of our original 14 teams now carry on to the Finals!

Here's our standings board. If you are concerned how the tie-breaking works, here are the details from the Rules,
1. WIns by objective: We will give an extra win for each win by Map Objectives (as opposed to killing off the other team) and see if that breaks the tie. This will apply ONLY as a tiebreaking rule; there will be no extra wins awarded to teams who are not tied for first place.

The Tournament Standings and List of Finals Games (click here)

The games for the Finals will be created by the end of the day!

Best of luck!

Just want it noted that we won this game by objective.
