We decided to go to a "fork & screen", which was quite the novelty, as a family outing. Then we had to decide what to watch. The curlette won by having the strongest opinion, and we went to see Guilt Trip, without any great expectations on my part. What a fine movie it turned out to be. Moving, funny, interesting plot, great performances. Distinct lack of blood, explosions, car chases, magic, monsters, nudity, swearing or drug use. Well, Barbra Streisand does say a naughty word once. All the family absolutely loved it.
I just watched Toy Story 3 last week. It's amazing. It's so funny... and heartwarmiing. It has so many deep concepts. And the target market is not an agenda, it's just another part of the story.
Well, I never really intended to ask for suggestions, just to make an unexpected one of my own. But bless you all, in an appropriate seasonal fashion, for your generous spirits. The merriest possible yuletide to y'ule. I mean y'all.

Why you wouldn't wait until tomorrow and take your entire family to Django Unchained seems cruel. You stole from them a chance to learn history while watching a benchmark film in American culture. Also, a whole lot of n-words!

Well I'm pretty sure it's better for your kids to hear the n-word used hundreds of times in the span of about two hours than it is for you to cook them wholesome and nutritious meals, so...
