So... most of the people I play against always think I'm a guy. I figured the feminine sounding name would've tipped people off, but apparently not. Any other women players have this problem?
I TOTALLY HAVE THAT PROBLEM, I MEAN HELLO....YOU WOULD THINK THE MOM PART WOULD BE A DEAD GIVEAWAY. I JUST THINK MEN MAY HAVE A HARD TIME REALIZING THAT WOMEN CAN BE JUST AS GOOD AT WAR GAMES. lol
Thats how it si for alot of strategy games. It seems more masculine. But theres always women who play and I,and others too, forget about it.
And frankly names dont tip me off anymore. i mean blantantly obvious names dont always work either (IM_FEMALE) because there are alot of people who like to make names to be funny.
Cenemom, your name sounds like cinnamon so I just think of it like that. I never thought about it til now but your name can be broken down to cene-mom.
Aladriel, you name may sound femine, but it is also a good RPG name (IMO) And guys mostly play RPG's. You could of taken your name from WoW or something. (Romber is my RPG name. Yea not very creative)
So it can be very hard and confusing to tell if a player is male or female.

Erm... Actually I thought the same thing...
Opportune-Moment
op·por·tune mo·ment n. A point in time well suited for doing something incredibly stupid.
ok my name is CENAMOM to clarify... its stands for cena certified nursing assistant and mom because i have 2 kids...if its compared to cinnamon, well hey at least my name is as hot as me! or if you all think its cene-mom how about obscene mom hey yeah thats sounds grreat
What makes you think people are thinking you are a male? Some phrases, such as 'Hey, dude!' or 'whats up, guys?' can work for both sexes. This is just the way things have shifted in the past decade.

It's more like when people are trying to make alliances and say things like "Hey, you wanna help me take Aladriel? I think we can beat him." That's a pretty clear assumption about who they think they're playing against.
Women on the internet should not announce their gender unless it's a tight-knit zero competition forum place. Anywhere else will have losers drooling at the thought of some hot risk babe on the other side of the monitor and then they hit on you.
People assume you're male because that's who 90% (I would have previously said 98% but then I went to a tight-knit zero competition forum place) of the internet is. The internet not including friendster and blogs and stuff. 'Cause those places suck.
It's just natural. Plus it's much more offensive to call a guy a girl than to call a girl a guy, especially on the internet.
My set is a bone coat-of-arms and chandelier! How cool is that?
Oh whine whine whine... I love how most girls take any chance they can to complain how guys don't think girls are as good as them, or that everyone thinks only guys can do/play certain things.. And if you never said what you were to begin with why are you so outraged that people thought you were a guy?
hey highborn and scarecrow yall got chicks and considering im friends with your girls maybe they should see what yall wrote lol....and i understand where the ladies are coming from im a bit of a tomboy and ive always had more guy friends than girl....and they underestimate me alot but thats the way it is they think they are superior cause they are bigger but we are smarter....my grandma always says behind every man is a strong woman
"Ha Ha Ha a Female general, what sort of pathetic man take orders from a woman?!"-Mad guy from film guess wat one
Female players are good for when you need an easy target(or someone to keep an allieship seems men are more ruthless)
I had to say something
