This is an individual tournament. While alliances are generally discouraged in tournament games, you will find that the scoring rules encourage team play to an extent. Long term alliances are not allowed (ie. “let’s help each other get to the final”); however, you are free to encourage and/or advise other players as it will benefit you for certain players to succeed... temporarily. Note that this may not always be the case; there are a variety of reasons you might not want to aid a player in your faction.
Factions
There will be 16 players divided into 3 UNEQUAL factions, as set out in the Napoleonic Europe map. These groups are: Napoleon (8 players), Coalition (5 players), and Neutral (3 players). I make no guarantee that the tournament will be completely balanced, however, I have attempted to make it as balanced as possible with the scoring rules, as well as an immunity game. I would appreciate feedback to improve this tournament format for the future.
Schedule
Round 1
In Round 1 each player will play 4 8-player games, followed by a 5th Immunity 8-player game. Each game will comprise 4 Napoleon Players, and either 3 Coalition & 1 Neutral, or 2 Coalition & 2 Neutral. Pairings will be chosen at random from a list of pre-selected pairings where Country bonus values of Napoleon & Coalition Players are equal.
At the end of Round 1, the following Players will advance:
- (1-3) Top 3 ranked Napoleon Players
- (4-5) Top 2 ranked Coalition Players
- (6) Top ranked Neutral Player
- Of the remaining:
- (7) Top rankedHighest scoring Coalition or Neutral Player
- Of the remaining:
- (8) Top ranked Player with highest score
- If any player with Immunity is not selected, they will take the place of the last selected position. For example, if two players with Immunity are the lowest ranked Napoleon Players; they would replace positions 8 & 3. If lowest ranked Coalition & Napoleon Player, they would replace positions 7 & 8 respectively.
Round 2
Round 2 will be 4 8-player games, followed by a fifth Immunity 8-player game. The individual winner of the Immunity game will automatically advance to the final. Whichever player (besides the Immunity game winner) with the highest rankingscore in round 2 (including points from the Immunity game) will also advance.
*Edit* If the Immunity game winner is also the player with the highest score, the player with the next highest score will advance.
Round 3
Round 3 will be 1v1 *Edit* Points will not be counted in round 3. The winner of the game is the winner of the tournament.
Scoring
There was an error in my numbers for max scores. I think the new numbers are correct. Don't let the higher number for losing fool you; just because it's possible, doesn't make it more likely. Also it should be noted that for scoring purposes, any Neutral who is not the individual winner is scored as a "losing faction" regardless of whether another Neutral was the winner. I apologize if any misunderstandings arose from this.

Rules
Freemiums welcome, must keep 2 game slots open.
You must have played at least 100 games.
To join, reply with your desired Country (do not private mail). Selection is on a first come - first serve basis; you must choose a Country to be counted.
Up to 2 invites will be sent; if you fail to join your game both times, you will be disqualified from the rest of the tournament.
If you deadbeat in one of your games, you will be disqualified from the rest of the tournament.
Thanks for joining guys. Let me know if anything is unclear or if you see any issues or potential imbalance issues. I'd like to do this again if it turns out well, and any feedback would be appreciated. And by the way, War & Peace is a pretty good read if you like historical fiction.
@ Wookie, I put you down as a reserve for now. I'm not sure what you meant by "a little while". Give me a date you'll be ready if you want, & I can determine whether or not to hold it for you. I don't know how long it will take to fill up, but I don't want to wait too long once we're full.
