In this comment Romney claims that if the Latino voting block becomes as committed to the Democratic party as the African American's then the Republicans are in trouble as a party as America is as a nation.
What I find fundamentally wrong about this is that he assumes that what's best for the Republican party is what's best for the nation as a whole, when in reality if the Republican party had Black and Hispanic interests at heart they would have their vote. It's putting the cart before the horse. If he wants black and Hispanic votes he needs to represent their interest. The fact that he doesn't find his own interest intersecting with those communities basically implies that he finds those communities themselves to be what troubles the nation as a whole. He want's to be the president of the united states but for himself not for us. He has no interest in representing the interests of the African American and Latino communities as well as the 47% of Americans who didn't pay income taxes (A percentage of which I am a member)
I'm sorry I haven't been an active member of these forums for a while. So it's kinda bullshit that I post a thread like this after a long period of silence. But it's bullshit that a man like this can run for president, and it's even more bullshit that people are still going to vote for him.
Don't forget that Bernanke has already lied under oath because he told Congress he would not monetize the debt. He should be held in contempt and impeached.BigBallinStalin wrote:The president has allowed the Federal Reserve to go unscathed as it has completely eroded your means of safely investing in your own future. You know the usual stuff. Health care, affordable education, not having family members deported.Night Strike wrote:No, what are the interests of African Americans and Hispanics?

blacks and latinos vote for obama for personal gain. obama represents their interests at the expense of everyone else. then you have the problem of black racism (voting for obama because of his skin color).
anyone who has "latino interests" or "black interests" at heart, trumping the interests of all, is probably a racist.

Health care is not a right nor is it the federal government's job to be involved in it. Education is already completely paid for by the taxpayers up through 12th grade with public colleges being highly subsidized by the taxpayers (without even mentioning all the student loans and grants already available). If a person is here illegally, then they're already breaking the law. Claiming they don't want a family member deported is like saying a person doesn't want their family member to go to jail after committing a felony; it's ridiculous. The Bison King wrote:You know the usual stuff. To help you out with your ignorance..."ignorance" means "lack of knowledge", not "lack of intelligence".john9blue wrote:dude, at least i try to make a coherent point when i flame.Woodruff wrote:

I refer to your ignorance because you seem to be happily and blithely ignoring the actual definition
of racism, and I don't want to unnecessarily label you with something that might make you appear
more...intentional about it.
My point was quite coherent to those of us who aren't quite so ignorant of the various words in use
here.

If you knew what "ignorance" means, as you claim, then you wouldn't have taken my earlier statement to be any form of "U R DUMB LOL". Therefore, I am afraid your attempt to beg out of ignorance is failing spectacularly.john9blue wrote:i know what ignorance means.Woodruff wrote:To help you out with your ignorance..."ignorance" means "lack of knowledge", not "lack of intelligence".john9blue wrote:dude, at least i try to make a coherent point when i flame.Woodruff wrote:

My post was simply highlighting your ignorance, which seems to shine through ever brighter each time you attempt to justify your statements. Perhaps your statement was much more intentional than I originally gave you credit for...that would be unfortunate.john9blue wrote:i'm saying that you made a pointless post and it betrays your lack of intelligence.

I'm voting Romney because he's white, and support White History Month. You agree I'm not racist, deal with it.rdsrds2120 wrote:It's not a matter of reading comprehension, but racism refers to a certain set of values. Voting for Obama because he's black doesn't fall into racism for the same reason that February being Black History Month isn't racist.
It's not even nitpicking, it's whole concept evasion.

But voting for Obama because he is black is the opposite of what Martin Luther King taught. No, that was not a reference of my post at all, never my "the entire point" of it. I quite specifically stated that "Ignorance must be a heavy burden for you."...you know...that word "ignorance. Now I've spent several posts attempting to get you to understand precisely the point I was making, but you're managing to continue to willfully wallow in your ignorance.john9blue wrote:but that was what you said.Woodruff wrote:If you knew what "ignorance" means, as you claim, then you wouldn't have taken my earlier statement to be any form of "U R DUMB LOL". "john is dumb"
that was the entire point of your post
It certainly was. Of course, your attempt to take me to task on this tangent has simply further highlighted your ignorance.john9blue wrote:i don't think it was "highlighting my ignorance"Woodruff wrote:My post was simply highlighting your ignorance, which seems to shine through ever brighter each time you attempt to justify your statements. Perhaps if you'd read for comprehension, you wouldn't have so much difficulty with it. Words have meaning, John. Use them correctly.Woodruff wrote:i think you just got upset because you're realizing that everyone's tired of your "reading comprehension" shtick. symmetry does it better than you do, honestly, and even he looks like an idiot when he does it.
Which is absolutely stupid, no question. But it's not racism.Phatscotty wrote:But voting for Obama because he is black is the opposite of what Martin Luther King taught.
