If a town busdriver mucked it up to give the result they will have to claim before lynch, until then a guilty means a hanging. Hippos death will result in proving The Cop's sanity, and even if he is insane he is still useful once we know his sanity.
Sadly, because we can't fully trust jonty yet, hippos dead will not prove anything about the jonty case on itself. Otherwise I'd have agreed with you, but as it is now, it seems we're better off lynching jonty.
Like has been said before, the dead of jonty will give us some info, and mafia is likely to kill him within a few nights anyway. That being said, I think the most likely scenario at this point is that both hippo and jonty are innocent, however jonty is probably insane. I'd say let him check someone tonight, if he even survives the night, that is.
Maybe we should try to check for other leads.
However if all else fails I'm willing to vote jonty.
