Whats your favorite band?

Postby ritz627 on Sun Apr 22, 2007 12:14 pm

Probably covered a couple times, but for me, its The Who, with the Allman Brothers Band and CCR coming in a close second and third.

To quote wikipedia if I may (yes I know they are not the most reputable site ever, but still, they're spot on here):

The Who came to prominence in the 1960s and grew to be considered one of the greatest and most influential rock bands of all time, in addition to being "possibly the greatest live band ever."

(Townshend is the inventor of the windmill guitar move, and the smashing up the guitar)

This site does it justice. Please watch the whole thing, it gets best at the end:

http://youtube.com/watch?v=KwFx2tMdV4s

This instance resulted in a partial hearing loss for Townshend b/c Keith Moon put too much dynamite in the base drum.

Haha, yea. But I respect that you're actually able to admitt that you like such horrible bands. For some reason today's modern "rock" music just sounds all the same. And for the record, this is not just some old guy just saying this, I'm 17.

I just like bands that can really play music because i play guitar so if a band can really play instead of just be a band i like them.

The Stone Roses shit hot, only released a couple of albums, but so influential to other indie bands since.
The Smiths what can you say about morrissey.

this is probably a better recording of the Who than the first one. It's the same gig though:

Man, I can't pick just one band. I love them all equally.

OK, maybe not all equally, but you get the idea, right?

So instead, I'll just pull the top 5 band from my most played list:

1)Bloc Party
2)LCD Soundsystem
3)Death From Above 1979
4)The Mars Volta
5)Of Montreal

Well, I do have a somewhat weird taste in music, if you will.

But seriously, you guys haven't heard of Bloc Party?
