I need 16 players to participate in this single elimination, 1 v 1 tournament. No freemiums as you will need at least six free slots at the beginning of each set.

This will be played like a men’s tennis major except we're playing with 16 instead of 128. Minor detail. Each player will be seeded based on their win percentage in 2-player games as of the first games being sent out. This tournament will involve a high number of games against the same player, so each player must have at least 100 games completed and 99% turns taken. If you don’t want to play a lot of games, you shouldn’t enter this tournament.

Six games will be sent out for each match to begin. To win a set, you must be the first to win six games, and win by two. You must win the best of five sets to advance to the next round. If two players are tied in a set at six games each, two games will be sent out at a time until someone wins by two.

Games will all be played on random maps. Each game will also be played nuclear or no spoils randomly selected. Random fog or sunny as well. All other settings will be standard, automatic, sequential, unlimited.

Players:
1. wesleymilo
2. solar
3. callmecommander
4. traffic133
5. dazza2008
6. HighlanderAttack
7. Grandilof
8. Dibbun
9. BluU
10. shoop76
11. Steelfoot
12. mwaser
13. LLLUUUKKKEEE
14. Krissan
15. Marshallbobby
16. william tennant

Reserves:
1. ianphull
2. Quark_Star

Greetings, everyone. Looks like I'll be rescuing this tournament. It's really too bad the original organiser dropped it, because quite honestly he was doing a beautiful job. It's not often I have a chance to say that.

Anyway, I doubt if I'll be able to make beautiful scoreboards like the original organiser, so for now I'll be rendering the results in simple text form. When I get some time maybe I'll take a shot at making nice scoreboards, or if someone with a graphic bent feels like volunteering, please do!

Anyway, here's where we stand after two rounds of play:
  1. According to the original scoreboards, Grandilof beat mwaser and will advance.
  2. Also according to the original scoreboards, Krissan beat BluU and should have advanced. However, Krissan disappeared from CC in July. So, he will have to be replaced. The easiest option would be to give BluU a pass, but I think maybe it would be more fair to have some kind of a playoff round where all four Second Round losers get a chance for the empty slot. Anyway, I'm willing to hear debate on this point before making my final decision.
  3. According to the original scoreboards, the series between Shoop and Steelfoot was still active. However, I find that there was a Game 10 which Shoop won, and he therefore wins the overall match and advances.
  4. The series between HA and 3-Luke has also been decided but not recorded. HA wins the third set 6-2 and advances.

The players guaranteed to advance are Grandilof, Shoop76, and HighlanderAttack. Krissan would be eligible if by some miracle he returned to CC in the next couple days, but it seems rather unlikely. So, one of the four Second Round losers will also advance.

Update Sep. 30th: Mwaser has declined to try for another chance. Therefore, there will be a round-robin playoff between Steelfoot, BluU, and triple-Luke.
Update Oct. 15th: BluU has won the playoff and advances.
Round 3

Grandilof vs. Shoop 76:
  • 1st set goes to Shoop76, by a score of 7-3
  • 2nd set goes to Grandilof, by a score of 6-4
  • 3rd set goes to Shoop76, by a score of 6-4
  • 4th set goes to Grandilof, by a score of 6-4
  • 5th set goes to Grandilof, by a score of 7-5
BluU vs. Highlander Attack:
  • 1st set goes to BluU, by a score of 7-3.
  • 2nd set goes to BluU, by a score of 6-4
  • 3rd set goes to HighlanderAttack, by a score of 6-2
  • 4th set goes to HighlanderAttack, by a score of 7-3
  • 5th set goes to HighlanderAttack, by a score of 6-2

    Grandilof advances to the Final round!
    HighlanderAttack advances to the Final round!

Finals
  • HA takes the first set by a score of 6-4
  • Grandilof takes the second set by a score of 6-2
  • HA gets bludgeoned in the third set by a score of 7-1
  • Grandilof takes the fourth set by a score of 6-4

Grandilof wins!

Okay, I waited a couple days for input; wasn't much, and most people seem willing to go with whatever I decide.

Mwaser has declined to try for another chance. Therefore, there will be a round-robin playoff between Steelfoot, BluU, and triple-Luke.

Just for reference:

I've been using the random number generator at random.org for these.

1=Nuclear Fog
2=Nuclear Sun
3=No Spoils Fog
4=No Spoils Sun

I have a bit of spare time this morning, and I want to get the next round out.

Game 11861523 is still in progress. However the stats are
Player Regions Troops Troops Due
Grandilof 4.8 1 2 3
shoop76 4.9 29 45 9
so I'm calling this a win for shoop and have updated the scores accordingly.

2 more out for BluU and HA.

I just noticed that I forgot to make the last batch Unlimited. I sure hope nobody suggests were replay all 12 of them.

pay attention :0

I am beating BluU this set --because I am tired of him always beating me--just making this statement
We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, therefore, is not an act but a habit.

Game 12047248 hasn't actually ended yet, but even through the fog it looks as if there's no way that Grandilof can come back in this one, so I'll call it for Shoop, and if I have to backtrack I'll look like an idiot later...:)

I have a bit of time right now so I'll get the next set out.
