And the winner is...... [player]IanG7[/player]After surviving 17 rounds of Assassin play, Ian earned a spot in the Finals, where he won two of four games, thus forcing a tiebreaking round, where he very dramatically won 3-0 over Kinnison.
Congratulations IanG7!
Older Updates:[spoiler=rescue]My original post here on Friday:
I intend to rescue this.
As of today, Sunday June 2nd, I am starting to work on this tourney. Please bookmark this page and pay attention to changes.[/spoiler]
[spoiler=stage 1]Okay, according to the previous TO's
spreadsheet, all Stage 1 groups have been decided except Group 3 and Group 8.
Group 3, however, was decided in
Game 10808228 where bart was eliminated
That leaves Group 8:
[player]traffic133[/player] (Draknor)
[player]hoschke118[/player] (Imperium Romanum)[player]Gen. Ramsarelli[/player] (NYC)
[player]God Emperor Q[/player] (Waterloo)
[player]Kinnison[/player] (Monsters)
[player]HighlanderAttack[/player] (Arms Race!)
hoschke118 has not been on CC since April 30th and is therefore removed. God Emperor Q has his online status blanked so I can't be sure. He doesn't seem to be in any active games, but to be safe I have to give him the benefit of the doubt. There is therefore a 5-player game to decide Group 8. Random number drawn = 2, which corresponds to NYC, so
Game 11189294 is created. If GEQ misses two consecutive invites then this group will also be decided.
Damn, somehow I missed Group 9. Five valid players remain in Group 9: adam666, Evil Semp, italianipastido, KiIIface, and Crarg. Another Stage 1 game coming up to decide Group 9.
Random number drawn = 5, corresponding to Poker Club.
Edit, June 10th. Crarg made short work of
Game 11200675 and Stage 1 is officially finished.[/spoiler]
[spoiler=stage 2]Stage 2 beginning today:
Link to Stage 2 groups list and games list.58 players survived Stage 1, so the first 8 groups will have 6 players and the last two groups will only have 5.
Groups 3, 9, and 10 are now down to four players each and will not have to play a second game this round. Second games for the other seven groups have been created and invitations sent out.
Same link as before.[/spoiler]

Current Updates:
Stage 2 is finally completely finished! We are starting Stage 3!
A few announcements.:
1. Gilligan has switched his home map to Poison Rome.
2. I have been eliminated in Stage 2...
3. Starting with Stage 3, I am switching from making the groups with Random.org to using the built-in RAND function in Excel. For those with mathematically-oriented OCD issues, this will result in a slightly less perfect level of randomization. For myself, it will be a time saver, and I honestly don't see it being unfair in any way.Scoreboard for Stage 3 is

[spoiler=stage 6]
Stage 5 is over, and we now enter Stage 6. The unique thing about Stage 6 is there are no more groups. All eight surviving players now compete in a single group.
Blind luck may have carried one through about half of this tournament, but to have reached this stage, and survived fifteen Assassin games, takes not just luck, but skill. I therefore have no hesitation in tipping my hat to our eight very capable Assassins:Leverpuller (Chinese Checkers) eliminated fourth gameitalianipastido (3 Kings of Korea)ckyrias (Middle Ages) eliminated second gameadam666 (Australia) eliminated first gameKinnison (Monsters)Tin Trumpet (Benelux) eliminated third gameIanG7 (Woodboro)Hath (Age of Merchants)"Bravo!" and "Well done, chaps!" to all of you. Now, with no further ado, let's begin Stage 6.

[spoiler=finals]
Final StageFour players -- Italianipastido, Kinnison, IanG7, and Hath -- have made it through to the finals. Now:
MrGlassB wrote:Final Stage (4 Players Remaining)
1 Group x 4 Players
Most assassinations across 4 games (one on each map represented) wins the tournament.
These are the maps of the Final Four:

... and ...
MrGlassB wrote:[*]Ties will be broken by an extra game between the tied players. If there are only two players that are tied, the game will obviously be standard instead of assassin.
MrGlassB did not address the issue of what map to use in a tiebreaker. There are two ties possible: Four players win one game each, or two players win two games each. I think the only fair way to resolve this is to play more than one tiebreaker game as follows.
- If four players win one game each, we will completely replay the Final with four game (one on each player's map.)
- If two players win two games each, we will play a best-of-three, with the two players' chosen maps for 1 and 2, and Random map for the third.
I'll send out a PM to the Final Four and make sure there are no objections before finalizing it. Of course, the preferred solution is for somebody to win 3 or more games on the first try so that we don't need a tiebreaker...
