A piece of pulp claptrap; it has no insights whatsoever into totalitarian psychology and always settles for the cheesiest kinds of demagoguery and harangue as its emblems of evil. They say they want a revolution? Then give us a revolution, one that's believable, frightening, heroic, coherent and not a teenagers' freaky power trip.

'Crappy' is in the eye of the beholder.

Besides, that's not the point.

The point is that I would've been surprised IF you had liked ANY movie that I did.

I'm not lying, but as you said, it doesn't matter. I just really didn't like League of Extraordinary Gentleman. The idea of it was good, but the story, and all the CG, and some of the acting was awful. But I know that my opinion means nothing to you so…

I haven't seen 13th warrior yet. And I don't intend on seeing Van Helsing.

Man, if you lived nearby, I'd let you borrow it... 13th Warrior is great, but Eaters of the Dead, Michael Crichtons book that it is based upon, is even better...

I give this movie a 5/10.

Not utter crap, but not stellar either. I was tempted to give it a lower score, but there be some really shitty movies out there...

I read League of Extraordinary Gentleman as well as V for Vendetta in their original comic book incarnations. In my opinion the movie version of V for Vendetta was far superior to the comic book, it had all of it's strong points and none of it's weaknesses. The book simply cried out for the visceral power that only a cgi studio can bring. And the political message was a little facile in the movie. It was in the book too. Go cry. As for the league, I don't know why that movie was released. The book(s) were soooo much better. To see that perfectly crafted universe of evil oriental druglords and hostile martians transformed into "Sean Connery and the seven dwarves" was nothing short of heartbreaking. They changed the focus, the plot, the central characters for shit's sake. Dorian Gray? Dorian Fucking Gray? Ah well. Siga la vida.

I'm planning on reading it ASAP.

I just can't find it and, ATM, I don't have time.

I borrowed it from my friend prior to seeing the movie. It was good, then I got half of it with my dvd.
