This is a Tournament Players Association Year 2(TPA2) event, and is governed by its rules, guidelines, and judgments. All are welcome to join and participate in the association. You need do nothing more than join one or more of the TPA2 events that will be announced each Monday. Check back on the TPA2 scoreboard in the Tournaments--> General Info forumto see how you're doing.
This event will be a double elimination tournament for 64 players.
Reserves welcome
Freemiums are welcome but need to keep 2 slots open for this tournament, due to number of games to be played. You must also have completed at least 50 games.
To join, simply reply in the thread that you want in. I will reply in thread when I sign you up. This will also be a seeded tournament, similar to an NCAA basketball tournament bracket.
It is appreciated that you enter your CC score when signing up, but if you do not, I will find and I will record individual player scores when I sign them up. As I record all the individual scores, the seeding will be as follows:
The highest 4 scores will be #1 seeds
The next highest 4 will be #2 seeds
and so on, until the lowest 4 scores are #16 seeds.
(In the unlikely event that players are tied with the same score resulting in more than 4 of the same seed, the higher seed will go to the player with a higher overall win percentage)
Players will be broken up into 4 "separate" 16 player brackets in order to determine the 64 man field. The 16 player matchups will be assigned with one of each seed. I will then place them in a seeded 1-16 bracket 4 times in a 64 man field. Bracket will be available for viewing when tourney is full and seedings are assigned.
Game play will be as follows:
Players will play in 1 vs. 1 games
Each round is best 2 of 3 games (Sent 2 at a time, with a third if necessary)
Tourney Final will be best of 5 (1st 2 sent, then additional games to follow)

[spoiler=TPA Scoring]As this is a TPA event and TPA points are awarded to players, I have developed a system to allow for the placement finishes of those players ranging from finishing 32nd to 5th place. As this is a Standard event, players finishing in the 64th through 33rd spots will automatically all receive 1o points.
For players to receive their specific place finishes and points, the following will occur:
Beginning in the 3rd round of the losers bracket, at which point 32 players have been eliminated, points will be awarded by special games being played to determine actual place finishers.
For places 32-25, there will be 1 special 8-player terminator game played on the Classic Map; the rest of the settings remain the same as the rest of the tourney. The first 4 players out are considered to place 32nd-29th and score accordingly. The 4 remaining players thus place in 28th-25th and score accordingly.
For places 24-17, there will be 1 special 8-player terminator game played on the Classic Map; the rest of the settings remain the same as the rest of the tourney. The first 4 players out are considered to place 24th-21st and score accordingly. The 4 remaining players thus place in 20th-17th and score accordingly.
For places 16-13, there will be 1 special 4-player Terminator game played on the Australia map; the rest of the settings remain the same as the rest of the tourney. The first two out claim 16th & 15th place, scoring accordingly, and the remaining 2 score as 13th & 14th place finishers.
For places 12-9, there will be 1 special 4-player Terminator game played on the Australia map; the rest of the settings remain the same as the rest of the tourney. The first two out claim 12th & 11th place, scoring accordingly, and the remaining 2 score as 10th & 9th place finishers, respectively
For places 7 & 8, a single game will be played with the initial tourney settings, same as the double elimination settings for the rest of the tourney.
For places 5 & 6, a single game will be played with the initial tourney settings, same as the double elimination settings for the rest of the tourney.
For players finishing in 1st-4th places, your finishes require no special games to be played and points will be awarded accordingly.[/spoiler]
