Game 9854822 - kalamaki has 17 regions and is due 4 troops according to the side stats.

I can't see any notice of altered region bonuses on the image, not any indication of negative bonuses. Is this right?

It has been noted. Am working on the new image but work takes over late in the week. Will get the image ASAP. Should be tomorrow.

The reinforcements are now the same as on the large Americas map. +1 for every 4.

whats the territory bonus usually its 3 for 1-11 4 for 12-14 5 for 15-17 but it isnt on this map

it isnt explained in the legend

As soon as the new images are up it will show. It is 1 for every 4 territs now with a minimum of 3.
3 for 15 and under.
4 for 16
5 for 20
6 for 24

like the opening up of the central area, gives the game a good balance of play, playing 4ways at the moment and they are all pretty even stevens.

Thanks bragsie, when gilipig suggested it a long time ago, I thought no way, but it has really sorted out a lot of problems with the games being over too soon. Also it sorts out the manual deploy problem. Glad you like it.

Perhaps put it in legend in the map as ppl wont know it unless they play the map a lot.

The new victory condition borders work better, I think. Especially when there's unlimited fortifications.

Im about to win my first and only game on this map. Once someone makes it inside the victory area if no one follows them in there then the 5 neutral resets actually help as an additional buffer. I need to start some new games to verify, but rather than have them reset to neutral 5s maybe reset to neutral 1's or 2's. This way they cant be stacked and once the one entrance is broken it leaves opportunity for someone else (maybe the 2nd or 3rd strongest player to nudge in there and postpone a win.

Anyone else have thoughts on the 5 neutral resets being more of an advantage to the strongest player than a hindrance?

As far as I am aware, the killers reset to the normal value (5 in this case). Having them lower at a 3 neutral will open up the WC a lot more and might allow more players in. But that might make the WC too easy again and in fog games, a player that starts out at the openings with 2 troops, gets 5 (1v1), 3 (8PG). You might be surprised by how easy it would be to get through unnoticed and take it by round 3 or 4.

Currently, the way the game engine works with the XML is that the value that a killer neutral resets to is its initial value -- they cannot differ.

This answers my comment better. If they can only reset to 5 then I guess we are stuck how it is. I agree lowering the initial value would be a bad idea, I just thought the reset value should be less once the 5 neutral is broken to allow someone to follow the first person inside and disrupt them. If this cant be done then leave the reset at a 5.

As the reset does not happen till the beginning of your next turn, a player can come in with only one army and not the 5 neutrals. That also balances it a bit. It is always going to be a gamble on going in.

Right, it is up to the person holding that killer neutral (temporarily) to decide how many troops to leave there, guarding the door until they are sacrificed at the start of the player's next turn.

I think i found a little error on the map!

You can attack from Mcebo to S'phamandla although if you look at the map you should not be able to do so!

I personally found Shaka to be one of the weaker areas. As it only gives 1+2auto, you need to expend troops to get the 4 neutral. Not a lot of return for a high neutral, this is compensated by the closeness to the outpost. In the one game you finished, the player who won took Mpande first and went from there. This blows your theory apart right away.

Also, it took till round 21 to finish with only one player being eliminated.

In your second game, it took till round 4 for the bonus for Shaka to kick in. No one in your 8 player game took notice of this and tried to attack blue

These are the only two games you have right now.

I think its pretty balanced right now, this is one of the few maps where trying to get the victory contitions really makes any sense at all.
Especially with fog of war you always have to hold the balance between trying to get bonuses to become strong enough to wipe out your opponents or try to capture the objectives and preventing people from taking and holding the objectives. I enjoy it alot, thanx
