As you may or may not notice, I'm going to be busy over the next week or so. will still post now and then probably but less actively.

As far as the suspicions on me, I don't really feel I have anything to respond to. Half of what has been presented is wifom and the other half is a case I rebutted yesterday.

As far as making a case, my main suspicion is still against commander but jonty is making his way up the list.

Have a bit more free time than expected. Not that it matters right now too much. No one's posting right now. Honestly, I'm trying to get something together but right now I'm not really sitting planted in front of a computer. I'm doing all my posting via phone which makes it more difficult when going back through posts to form a comprehensive post. I'd particularly like to hear from pancake as I think he's fairly trustworthy so I respect his opinion on this situation but it would be nice to hear from others...and now I feel I'm just sounding like a hypocrite.

Ok, I've been stewing over this for a while now, and I might be waaay off base, but I might have something.

After re-reading, it seems like the Night 3 scene doesn't quite add up with the statements given by pcm and /.
safariguy5 wrote:Scene

A red behemoth stalks his prey. Seeing his target walk down a seemingly deserted street, he springs into action.

"Your mistletoe in no match for my TOW missle!" he cries, brandish a large shoulder mounted rocket launcher.

Suddenly, a man wearing a red uniform jumps out of an alleyway.

"Halt! I demand that you cease your actions in the name of DOOP" he declares, holding up a gloved hand.

"Haha, do you think mere words can stop me?" chortled the monstrosity as he took aim.

Suddenly, he noticed a television show playing in one of the storefronts and was distracted by it's dull droning of an audio track. This allowed both his target and protector time to escape.

/ claims he targeted pcm. Pcm claims he roleblocked / (which seems to have been proven true). So, why didn't Santa's target perform the roleblocking in the flavor? Sure, it could be that Hypnotoad was the target, and at the same time Hypnotoad's show did the roleblocking, but that seems a little far-fetched and unnecessary. What if pcm was busdriven, and that's why there was a third unnamed character in the scene?

We saw the town busdriver in the scene, so is it possible that a mafia busdriver drove pcm and another player on N3? If so, that would make one of those 2 players likely mafia. I'm not condoning a power role claiming if unnecessary, but if Zapp can verify that he didn't protect pcm last night, we may have a mafia member narrowed down to 2 candidates.

I say 2, because I'm not convinced pcm is town. Hypnotoad doesn't strike me as having a definite alignment. He could easily be mafia roleblocker, and saw a chance to kill the SK while taking the guise of town. This struck me as odd:
pancakemix wrote:Also, Haggis was my N1 block.

Why would you use your N1 block on one of the only players to claim town on D1?

OTOH, pcm was one who was adamant about lynching freezie. Could be a case for town, or it could be another case of distancing himself from mafia.

Again, all WIFOM. Discuss.

Sorry guys. Been swamped lately. For the record, Andy was my block last night.

I am of the opinion that no claim should be taken at face value. (FWIW, You seem to agree with that philosophy so I can't fault you for doubting me.) Therefore, every claim should be tested. I blocked Haggis, people still died. It then follows that his claim is sound and can be trusted (to some extent, at least we know he's not a killer).

Or that you were blocked or a busdriver got involved...

Hmm some deep reading but it never states where he aimed his gun, so it could have been at HypnoToad and then his show. Just throwing an idea into the melting pot.

From the Day 1 intro:

safariguy5 wrote:Welcome to the future!

It's not all flying spaceships and sexy Lucy Liubots however, everything from flying brains to nudist scammers wants to either take over the world, steal everyone's things, or stick their genticles everywhere.

It's up to our intrepid (and slightly underinsured) crew of the brave (and large and mostly reliable) ship Planet Express to rid the galaxy of evildoers while trying not to get killed, maimed, or tricked into pity sex.

Hypnotoad has never been associated with Planet Express. I don't see how he would fit the flavor of town.

I think you're jumping to a lot of conclusions based solely on scene flavor drunk.

I'm not the first to question Hypnotoad's alignment:
jonty125 wrote:Could Zap be a town roleblocker and HypnoToad a mafia roleblocker?

I'm just the only one to question after pcm claimed. Why is it just now "something out of nothing"?

If town have a roleblocker mafia are likely to have a roleblocker (to balance the game please correct me if I'm wrong). Now lets us take this situation. Pcm is a mafia roleblocker and there is a town roleblocker. If someone else were to claim roleblocker and you are the town roleblocker think this. Surely town wouldn't have 2 roleblockers :-s. So the town one would have claimed so that pcm couldn't have passed of as a townie straight away. Discussion would happen if town roleblocker was lynched, pcm would be lynched the next day, because people would think we wouldn't have 2 roleblockers; if pcm was lynched then ding-dong well done a member of the mafia is dead. That is why I think of as pcm as town.

And I believe it is "something out of nothing" as it is reading very deeply into flavour. OK, we all read a little bit into flavour but you really seem to be swimming very deeply into the murky waters of flavour.

You're asking the wrong person here. I haven't played enough to know how roles are balanced. But I can understand your point. It's highly unlikely to have two town roleblockers, so a falsely claiming town would be taking a huge leap of faith that town didn't have a roleblocker. For now I'll unvote pancakemix, but I still don't feel well about his N1 block, and an N3 block that can't be confirmed.

I also think something extra happened in the flavor that redirected / to target someone else, but that part doesn't necessarily implicate pcm.

At least it opened up discussion (a little). There's nothing happening. Maybe strike has his C9 case ready now?

This is your first post today and you have nothing to contribute based on today's discussion :-s FOS GEQ I will probably vote later on but with 5 days until deadline as we need to decide on a definite lynch target and GEQ is definitely my #1 suspect.
