In 968 Edgar Aetheling's attempt to take back his father's throne failed. Edgar was killed in battle and his children were taken off to exile in neighbouring countries. Athelward was left to govern England, but the threat of conflict with the descendants of King Edmund would never go away. Towards the end of Athelward's life both Edgar's sons would attempt separate invasions of Athelward's domains. How successful they were will be up to you.
This tournament will be 1v1, single elimination on the map of England. The first two rounds will be single games, after that the quarter finals will be best of three, semi finals best of five and finals best of seven.
When signing up please state which royal claimant you support. (Athelmar, Athelred or Edward, if you don't announce your support I will put you down as Athelred.)
If you know of any other personalities from the era that you feel could enter in to the story, you are very welcome to play for them (like for instance, an invasion by the Scottish king. Though, please leave the chinese emperors out of it...).
