You forgot a "You mean its not teal?" option in your poll. Anyway a lot of people don't use the colour codes so that would account for some of the differences I guess.

i call "cyan" teal and "silver" gray, deal with it...after all i'm not some sort of home decorator. i'm a man so i call colors by the most simplistic name it has so everyone knows what im talking about.... the only time i use the color code givin names is when i'm speaking with my color blind friend. at least i don't call pink purple.

I don't like when people refer to players by color at all. No, that is not a racial thing. The problem is that I will be more likely to read a message that invokes "thegreekdog" than a message that invokes "cyan" or "teal." I try to avoid referring to players by color (and I don't always succeed). In any event, when you have 20 or 50 or 100 games going at once, it can get confusing and time consuming to figure out what player people are referring to.

Pink gets called purple a lot. I don't know why. My old military school used to have green and pink as its colors back in the dark ages.

Can you elaborate on how calling cyan teal is more simplistic.

1) cyan takes a little more effort to say (meh, im lazy wannafightabowdit?)
2) not everyone knows what cyan is, as it's primarily used in the photo industry....seriously i talked to one person who thought it was like ceran wrap.
3) EVERYONE AND THEIR MOTHER KNOWS WHAT TEAL IS
4) light blue takes longer to say
