What's luck got to do with it? Got to do with it?

Postby KATHAR on Tue Apr 03, 2007 11:34 pm

For better of for worse, there is a luck factor to this game.
It sounds superstitious, but there are a few tricks I do when attacking to try and have luck go my way. I will share a few of them, none of them really seem to work well. But I want to hear from everybody, and make sure I'm not the only one doing a weird ritual before I hit "attack"

Some luck rituals I do...

1. In an effort to simulate a real dice roll, while holding the attack button down, my left hand is held up and clenched (as if I have dice), I shake my hand a few times, and when I "throw" my "dice" I release the attack button.

2. In mid turn I will switch over to a different web browser if things are going bad.

3. Sometimes I will click a random spot above the attack button, and then click the attack button.

Feel free to try these, not good success though. I am in search of new rituals if you got any.

I cringe, press auto-attack and try not to look for as long as possible...
If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. Nothing would be what it is, because everything would be what it isn't. And contrary wise, what is, it wouldn't be. And what it wouldn't be, it would. You see?

Ask Gordon1975. Just been defending a country with 10 armies on it against 6 of his. he deployed 5 more to make it 10v11 and beat me 10-0. Man do these dice suck....now i'll never get my continent bonus back....only got 18 armies left in total.

I usually hit auto attack and punch the table. It's not superstitious but it is a ritual.

u need to see a therapist dude. the only thing i do with big attacks is count how much i'm up or down by as it goes along but thats not a ritual really its just keepin track.

1 ritual tho is to complain after things cock up really bad or apologise if things go well. extreme dice can really mess up a game. sometimes i wish they were a bit more... well average i suppose. a few weeks ago i was makin major attacks in 2 games. first game i killed 1 army and that was it. lost loads but next game i didn't lose any armies and killed loads. because of those dice rolls i won the second game but luckily the first game is a mega 100+ rounder so it didn't affect it too much

Yeah, I'm crazy...CRAZY like a FOX!

I would say my attack rituals are fun-moderatly crazy. I know there is someone out there who is straight up crazy.

There's got to be someone who has a little conquer club idol sitting on his/her computer monitor and rubs its' belly before every attack.....Man, what would that look like?

I don't think I am as near superstitious as that other guy, but before every attack roll I make one virgin sacrifice, to appease the dice gods.

Works 50% of the time EVERY TIME!!!

This is going to sound crazy but I always make note of the exact spot on the Attack button where my cursor is pointing when I go to press it. If the attack is successful, I will quickly click in the same exact spot. If not, I wait a moment and then try a different spot. I accomplish this by using reference points in the word Attack. For instance, I usually like to start by lining up the top pointer on the cursor with the cross-section of the first "t" in Attack. If that doesn't work, I'll usually switch to the cross-section of all three lines in the letter "k". I continue to do this until I find a spot that works for me. I will continue using that same spot until my luck goes sour at which point I move to a different spot.

Nuts, I know. Am I the only one?

Um, no. I kinda do the same thing. I also hold down the Auto-attack button for like 20 seconds before releasing it.

rolling rituals

Postby Whiteberry on Wed Apr 04, 2007 9:26 pm

Have you tried standing on one foot while exhaling and pushing the attack button with the severed tail of a dead cat? Try it sometime. It works when the moon is full and the outside temperature is between 75 and 85 degrees Fahrenheit. Really!!

How about if you just think about pushing the attack button? You won't lose any armies this way.

There is this one method I use frequently. Which involves a rubber chicken, two hundred fresh-eating chipmunks, and a skankin' orangutan.

Somehow, it fails. I must accumulate new formulas toward my logic of eminence.
