it's obviously an ALCS moment since the mariners haven't been in a WS in the 21st century. They were in both the 2000 and the 2001 ALCS. I suppose whether 2000 is technically part of the 21st century is up for debate, but for argument's sake. Was it in 2000?

Did it occur during the one whole game the Mariners managed to take off the Yankees?

And this isn't a real question, but is it a moment that someone who's not a monumental, slavering mariners fan would even have noticed at the time, given the particular emotional tenor and soon-to-come big world series moments of that peculiar 2001 playoffs?
