I thought so, but the holding part might of meant 'holding back', so just thought I'd check!

anyway, it's a Star Trek reference and when the shields are holding at 100%, you have incurred no damage, but when they go to 50%, you're half dead, and when they go to 0% you're pretty much destroyed, fried bacon on a kentucky toast chicken.
