Philadelphia, which is generally seen as a city full of boorish, rude, obnoxious, and evil sports fans, has not had a sports-related riot in recent memory. Fucking espn... SHUT UP! SO WE THREW SNOWBALLS AT SANTA CLAUS IN THE 1960S? SO WE THREW BATTERIES AT JD DREW IN THE EARLY 1990S? SO WHAT? LEAVE US THE HELL ALONE!!!
You left out the time we threw snowballs at Jimmy Johnson & the cowgirls. er never mind, Apparently throwing snow balls at a drunken Santa Claus is considered worse the messing up Jimmy Johnson's hairdoo
elfish_lass and I were downtown for game seven (7). We were at the Grandville site. About halfway through the third period I saw these guys pushing an old truck down the street. My first thought? "Oh shit. Time to go?" My second thought? "Oh shit. Time to go!" So we went.
Win or lose stuff was gonna burn. Just glad no one died.
An odd series but very entertaining. The Canucks ran out of gas and/or need more Broad Street Bullies guys. But the best part? Yesterday 2 dudes were arrested for setting cop cars on fire. Posted pix of themselves in the act on Facebook... yesterday.
But I can't see how DC fans of any kind could worry about band wagon jumpers.
And untill the headcoach can't have his son be the QB coach its going to be more soap opera shit next year
Of course then there's the ridiculous signings that always occur..
I was just saying that the true fans of a city like DC look like they don't give a shit a lot of the time because of the vast number of bandwagon fans. For example, the nationals were just on an 8 game winning streak, and although it was a big "rivalry game" with the orioles this weekend, the main reason we were sold out friday saturday sunday was because of the streak. at least for the first 2, considering fathers day was sunday. and if not for the 8 game winning streak then for the whole "hey guys remember that one player we have who was pretty good? ryan zimmerman? he just got off the DL, let's watch his first 6 games back before we stop caring until strasburg and harper get their asses up here"

I think we were applauded for that, generally speaking (i.e. "Look at those funny Philadelphia fans... aw shucks." I don't remember because I didn't watch national sports stations (i.e. ESPN) back then.
You can go play in Atlanta where no one gives a shit or in Los Angeles where people leave during the 7th inning to get their hair done (or whatever), or you can play in Philadelphia, Boston, or New York where people care and will boo the hell out of you if you suck.
Ill take passionate fans over non passionate every day. I LOVE going to Browns games, I don't personally care, but after tail gating and walking through the stadium I end up being a die hard before kick off. It's a insane enviorment..
Yanks, listen up. This thread is about Canada. CANADA!!! It's bad enough living next to you loud mouth rednecks and your crazy friends and your all night parties and your floozies running around half naked, But when you hijack our riot thread enough is enough.

Now take your crappy beer and go home.
Sorry...
Van City is crazy! Yeah, what's with all them hooligans running around. Most of them didn't even have Canucks jerseys on!
