Sure it could happen --Miami just did it-- but it isn't likely. If Chicago does miraculously pull a rabbit out of their hat, game seven is at home.
What is likely? The NBA Finals beginning sooner than expected, with both series now 3-1. Here's an interesting statistic... Points scored in last four games
The Bulls really need to find the bottom of the net. Their lack of offense in the first half of their last home game was almost absurd. At one point Chicago had nine more shots than Miami and still trailed by three.
It's put up or shut up time tonight in the Windy City.
Bulls CHOKE BIG TIME and the Miami Heat are the Eastern Conference Champs. One of the absolute worst playoff chokes ever. Three minutes left to play and Chicago had a 12 point lead. With both Noah and Boozer sitting on the sidelines for some reason and James hits a 3... Wade hits a three and is fouled by Rose... James hits another 3 and with 1 minute to play it's all tied at 79.
Chicago leads at the end of every Quarter, but the 4th Quarter ends with Rose unable to finish at the offensive end, and it's Miami winning by 3.
gonna disagree with the bulls choking comment. just think the heat stood up and made great shots at the end. the bulls played hard, just didn't have an answer to the clutch play of the big 3.
It all really had to do with Boozer's careless flagrant foul. Both he and Noah really hurt the Bulls throughout the entire series. For one, they didn't play up to their regular season statistics, let alone the heightened level of play that the playoffs, and especially a conference final, and even more so when you get a chance to beat the Heat(les, big 3, whatever you wanna call them), require of these athletes. To compound things, Boozer looked so confused throughout the series defensively, he did more to hurt them than help them. For example, he got bitched by Chris Bosh on multiple occasions (see Bosh's 38 point game) and from game 5, the commentators often cited his slowness on rotations, lack of fighting through screens, etc.
While Rose, Deng, (and although I dislike him from his UF days) and Noah are an excellent core with superb heart, and with Korver as an excellent option as a release valve on broken down plays or for spot up shooting, Boozer seems to not buy into the system. He thinks he can just throw his body around wherever he feels, and thinks that is enough. The system set in place by Thibodeau requires excellent team defense, bookended by the bigs. Noah is contributing, Boozer is not.
/rant.
This has nothing to do with me liking the Bulls as a team, and more to do with me not wanting the Heat to have made the finals.
Alas, the series should be a tough one, great athleticism from the Heat versus the veteran savvy of the Mavericks, combined with Dirk's determination to exorcise the demons from 2006, I say Mavs in 7.
And, Wizards get into the playoffs at either the 7th or 8th seed next year, as the east will probably allow a team that goes 39-43 to sneak into the spring tournament.
Guys, can we all post on gradybitches wall? I'm really afraid for him. Seriously. The sand in his vagina may be too much for him to handle.
Also, the Bulls' immaturity and inexperience in the playoffs was shown immensely. I would usually say they'll be back and better next year, but I think the Heat (with their big 3 being right in the middle of their primes) will only get much better than the Bulls (they can develop their younger players more and build a lot more team chemistry).
I'm going with the Heat in 6 (granted, I'm biased and don't want to make any stupidly blind predictions like gradybitches or knapper did for the Bulls/Heat series). The Heat have a much stronger D than OKC and Dirk (hopefully) won't walk all over them. Yea, the Mavs are older and have more veterans, but only 3 (I think) of them (Dirk, Terry and Kidd) have actually been in the finals before (while Wade and Haslem won one and LeBron has been there before) so I really think they're very similar experience-wise.
Hahahahahahahahaha gradybridges foed me. What a fucking BITCH
I love how much shit he can talk (over the internetz) before the series, but after his team gets manhandled he runs away like zombies are chasing him or something. Oh lawdy, someone please warn him not to be such a spineless pussy next time and to man-up and admit he was wrong (without making excuses).
I caught the game last night, I thought the Heat were going to be out of it when the fourth quarter rolled around and it looked like the Bulls were still pretty commanding the game.
Those last two minutes were pretty astounding.
I look forward to the Mavs and Heat match-up, I think this is an NBA Finals I actually care to watch.
Everyone ready for the game tonight? I think we are all in agreement here that we want the Mavs to win solely because we all collectively hate the Heat
