Can we compile a list of examples of Tournaments that have been difficult to find/deal with because of this new update? That'll allow us to look into a few things better.

Might be a little too much info, but take a look at those links Link 1 and Link 2 ;)

because it was needed/yes/yes I dont like what has been done, but the inactive tourny's added a lot of data. data not used by the majority of the people. less data used is more speed for games... overall it was a good idea, just... the implementation can be .. i hope... better..

there was a problem the list was too long. qwert suggested it be split into active and finished lists which would have solved the issue but lack went and done something which now hinders TO's.

I know a little bit about databases so I do not really understand why the drop down box was just not changed to choose between inactive and active tourneys?
Just my thought

Sorry, not sure if I understand you. HighlanderAttack's problem is solvable (proper escaping, not letting the database-escaped thing go back to the browser, but the html-escaped variant). I think lack will pick it up from either thread, but it would be nice to have the part in this thread split up and moved to the bugs-forum.

Can someone translate to me what andy say? I think that Andy say that problem are not new "Improvment" but some of 5000 tournament are make some troubles? Man,these is like conversation of deaf peoples.
I think after two days now my biggest problem is trying to do the invites.
I can get to the games, but when I try to do invite after invite the page does not refresh back to the page where I was doing the invites but to all available games to be joined.
I can find the games I need, but do not want to keep going back to game finder time and time again just to do invites
The other problem was the Tour Stats
I am sure these are two relatively easy fixes
Of course having a drop down box like we used to have is much easier

Am I the only guy who loves this update??? Holy crap!
I don't know what's complained about, that stupid scroll menu was a pain in the ass (and us iPhone users aren't allowed to type in the first few letters) so it wasFOREVER to scroll, and my tournaments started with a "B"!!! If it goes back I will never name a tournament with anything that starts with anything after B, bcuz I'd be wasting WAY to much time scrolling the stupid thing.

I think so. Two of my current tournaments are "Ever Decreasing Circles II" and "Ever Decreasing Circles III" - before I could just type e-v-downarrow or e-v-downarrow-downarrow, so a maximum of 4 keys. Now I have to type the whole title.
Important Tournament Notice
The data for ALL of my tournaments has potentially been lost. I am working to recover it but as I am away on business all of this week, there will be some delay. Sincere apologies.

IMagine what it's like to not be able to type and have to scroll to the "e's".

that sounds like a solution to me....let's run with that

Yeah, agreed. I hadn't really looked at the tournament finder, but it is only useful in some cases. Mostly for historical data. But:
As an organiser, I'd like to see whether games since last time I checked were finished in my tournament. As an organiser, I'd like to see whether there are any games waiting for players in my tournament.
As a player, I'd like to check out future opponents, which games they won/lost. As a player, I'd like to see how many points I have or current opponents have (if it's point-based).
Those are the cases in which I used the game finder, and they became harder (though not impossible) with the current setup.
I know it's bad etiquette to quote an entire post just to say "ditto" but in this case I just can't help myself. I so desperately want to say "ditto!"

Not just your thought... my thought, qwert's thought, sherk's thought.. the list goes on and on.
