There is a lot more substance in this suggestion than merely lowering round times TheForgivenOne. 3 points in fact. Thank you for showing that one of them has been mentioned before.
As far as speed only maps, you could do some sort of novelty map, a race track, some sort of horse map, a greyhound bus "rail" map... really anything that is new and for speed only. I love playing new maps, If there were speed only maps, I would play speed again. There is no reason not to really.
My suggestions are not directly "for" the players... they are "for" the guy that makes money here, in hoping with more money made then more changes in tweaks that would be finished "for" us the players.
These suggestions are also In hopes of adding more energy and excitement and players to CC. I do not care what you guys say, this is not the same place or community it was 5 years ago. Once upon a time it was very very easy for me to have 200 active 8 man games 30 days a month. I do not believe I could get to 200 8 man games and keep it at 200 now if I tried.

I know, just simply showing you that one of your 3 aspects is currently waiting in Submitted

decreasing speed game turn time might get others to cut back on the number of games they run at once.
i have noticed games can take over and hour because a few of the players show up late in their allotted 5 mins every turn. there is another site i play when i want a real speed game. turns are 15 seconds each so the game keeps everyone's attention.
I stopped playing speed when I started one @ 945 am and had to abandon it @ noon for a scheduled lunch. It's fun but I agree, 1 or 2 min turns would be brilliant.
I can think of a tonne of ways to make more $ on this site, with minor changes. But so far what I've seen is a "don't want to do more work" attitude by anyone who could help the dude make $$$.

They are not paid and gain no personal benefit other than a more active community if the site has more paid members. Thus arguing for a change that makes lack more money is not the best way to get the ear of the people who frequent this forum - it's better to couch your suggestion in terms of how it actually helps the existing members more. This is not to say that the Suggestions forum doesn't have attracting new premium customers as a goal, but simply that the Suggestions moderators don't make the final choice on what gets implemented, only the webmaster does. If you think he is making choices that negatively affect his potential income, you should contact him directly rather than take this tortuous route to point it out to him.

once upon a time we had less than half the maps we have now. the smaller choice made it easier to fill those games.
I'd like to have a 2 minutes turn... 5 minutes are too long and kinda annoying when a dude run 4 games at a time and show up last minute to take his turn.. the only speed I play is 1v1 to save my time.
When I started CC there were always 30+ speed games waiting... always, anytime of day. I think that speeders are proportional to the viability of the site.
Andy, there was a time when there were a dozen games up at any given time. At 5 O'clock my time, there used to be 20 to 25 waiting for player everyday. I'd say it it now averages around 7, and to many are those stupid doodle ass. games.

yes.. 5 minutes are really too long and too boring
I agree that two minutes would be satisfactory for 1 v. 1 games, but what about team games? There are a large degree of dubs being played, and even the occasional quads and triples... how in blazes are you to communicate and go in two minutes? All regress to "text speak"? "r u hittin' Shlendrff? qk! 2 'r 1 dply? Frt me on !!! Blast it, ran out of time..."

for team games, you can play speed not ultra speed. it's an additional option not to replace the 5 min option

I would love to achieve this title. Even if I did have to spend a whole day on speed.
I do like this facet of the suggestion though. Additional thoughts/development of it?

to be honest. Im stealing this from some very highly successful browser games. In those they give medals like here, but they have various "High xxxx of the day" medals.
If you really want a speedy game you could play rt with your mates. That way you could break balls when people took too long to turn. The only downside I can really think is that I used to have pretty crappy internet and it was hard to get my turns in with 5 minute games. Y'all are speed junkies! In all seriousness I think this would be a good option if you could still have the 5 minute game option.
