Welcome to my first tournament. This will be a 4 player standard singles tournament . In each round each player will play 6 games (each game on a different map) and will receive points for their place of finish. The tournament will start with 16 players, then the top 8 will proceed to play in the semifinals and then the top 4 will play in the finals.
Game Settings Maps – Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, USA Game Type - Standard with 4 players Initial Troops - Automatic Play Order - Sequential Spoils - Flat Rate Reinforcements - Unlimited Fog of War - Yes
There will be a cap of 40 rounds for each game. If the cap is reached, all players still alive will split the available points (ie. 2 players left - both get 8 points; 3 players left - each gets 6 points; 4 players left - each gets 5 points).
Matchups for the 1st round will be decided by random.org. Semifinal matchups will be decided by seed number which will be determined by the scoring system. In Round 1, every player will play against every other player at least once (3 players will be repeated for each player).
But one suggestion is to still have a cap for number of rounds even with flat rate cards building will happen in at least a few games. I know for a fact that it can really slow down the tournament if you are waiting on one or two games, especially with it being a point based setting and placements means just as much as winning the game. But with fog of war on, this would be very difficult to find out who is in the lead on troops since you would need players to get screenshots for you, since you can't see every player.
That's just my 2 cents to keep in mind. Good luck with the tourny, and by the way you have this set up it looks like it will run very smoothly.

Updated the player list, you're in.
I did PM Kuma (the one who suggested I cap it or change spoils) yesterday about this and he suggested a 100 round cap. Seems like it could take forever to get to that point. What would you suggest for a cap? For the tournaments I've played in so far, I have not seen anyone put a cap on rounds, so I don't know what is typically used and many of them have not used escalating spoils.
Since it is Foggy, I was thinking I could just call it a tie for whoever is left at the capped round. So if 2 are left, they would both get 8 points (total of 1st and 2nd points split between them). If it reached the cap there's a decent chance it would be stalemate I would think and a lead by someone may be minimal and not necessarily worthy of a true win. Is that reasonable?
I appreciate the suggestions as this is my first tourney and I don't know all the pitfalls that a tournament can have yet.
I decided to take the advice of others and add a cap to the games. I added the following to the rules:
There will be a cap of 40 rounds for each game. If the cap is reached, all players still alive will split the available points (ie. 2 players left - both get 8 points; 3 players left - each gets 6 1/3 points; 4 players left - each gets 5 points).
