Oops, I missed that - yeah, the factories certainly need to be in the legend, and therefore, to save space, maybe there should just be one factory icon.

Plus, the bonus explanation about a moon mine and factory should perhaps say 'ANY' factory (assuming that is the case)

Some possible changes?? Do the continent colors work better? Dark continents drowned out the cities, etc. And the arrows for cross map attacks? Should I remove the cross maps legend? I'm gonna work on the moon next.

The icons should be listed on a legend, explained which is which, and what they do.


This needs doing.

Also I recommend enlargening the playable area. Your current image is 700x600 which is a large map size, so you can size it up to 840x800... Eurasia is really cluttered, it's hard to see what label goes where, a larger map size would help.

My idea was like arms race (which is one of my fav maps). Race to the moon for supremacy and the win. But I was leaving discussion for when (and if) I ever see the gameplay workshop (which is where, as I understand it, bonuses and gameplay balance is worked out).

I will, but I haven't started this as I'm not finished all the icons and therefore can't make a completed legend. Larger map size sounds good.

But this is actually something I would advice all new mapmakers about the workpace of the foundry:

If you ever find yourself in a situation where comments/feedback to your map dwindle, just keep on working on the map, pick out something to do and just do it... just keep previous versions saved on your disk so you can revert back to a previous version in case things go horribly wrong...

The idea is, that by doing changes to the map, you will prompt people into commenting on them - they will either like the changes and tell you about it, or they will hate the changes and tell you about it, but either way you'll be getting more feedback again.

Have no fear, Sully's here! :D

For the territory labels, I think a quick fix is to put them at the bottom of each icon. Have them overlap a little. And use the extra pixel space you've got to explain the icons, like natty and nobodies kinda said.

Nice, good job. I suggest adding all the different city icons next to "cities" in the legend.

The ocean cities... perhaps you could think of some kind of functionality for them, since they already have an icon? Perhaps a collection bonus, like +1 for each 3 ocean cities, or something like that.

2 suggestions.

1 make the legend areas not as opaque

2 See if you can possible switch out those lines with something else. The connecting lines look a bit messy if you ask me.

Why wait?

The foundry doesn;t work with a simple checklist - one of the purposes of the drafting room is to ensure that mapmakers are able to cope with gameplay and graphic considerations

Well I didn't entirely wait. I stated my reason for the bonus. If someone wants to discuss this bonus more, then they can respond. I was also focusing on the graphical comments and have made many adjustments based on those suggestions.

your legend text... Take off the glow and try a white stroke at 2. See how that looks. I think it would look better if you ask me.

maybe your looking at an older version. there is no glow on the latest. but I still will try the stroke. I'll post it soon.
