Cheating by a modderator?[CLERARED]ES

Post by 110313 »

Hi guys.

Forgive my noobishness. But I was invited to this game: 8713252 by SirSebstar.

http://www.conquerclub.com/game.php?game=8713252

I thought he was inviting me to HIS team (didn't know why he would do that) - but it turns out I was invited to the other team - where all the members are far less experienced than SirSebstar's team - me being the noobiest.

Is that not called "noob bashing"? Or as I read somewhere here: "farming new recruits" ?

I don't know SirSebstar - never played a game with or against him before this one... then I found out he is a modderator - because he closed my thread:
http://www.conquerclub.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=57&t=141470

So.... why did he invite me to the enemy team?

Especially as it was a 4v4 game - where one side losing meant 4 people losing, and one side winning meant 4 people winning.

SirSebstar - if your reading this - DO NOT close or delete this thread.

--

Also, next time I get an invite, how will I know to which team I'm being invited?

Thanks guys.

It isn't cheating. "Farming" refers only to new recruits. It SHOULDN'T, particularly when invitations are involved like this, but it does.

All this is an example of is pathetic point-whoring.

Really? Wow never noticed that loophole, he only has 24 games completed, with 20 losses..2 Colonels and 2 Majors VS 2 privates a corporal and a cook. Dosent get much cheaper then that..

Although I guess they are chancing a lot more points to lose then to win, that's still pretty shady, not to mention you'd think boring.. going through all that trouble for maybe a couple points..would love to see when these guys being bullied pull out a win :)

If you're invited, one of the slots is "reserved" for you. You can show the reservations to see which slot it is.

Obviously any gross abuse of the game is forbidden. This includes but is not limited to: throwing games or deliberately benefiting from thrown games, intentional deadbeating, holding players hostage, serial teammate killing, hijacking accounts, systematically "farming" new recruits.

I do believe this falls under the "farming" new recruits. New recruits joining a game is one thing-sending them invites to the opposing team is farming. And from a mod? Seriously?

SirSeb is on team 2, which makes this weirder.

Probably wanted to practice the map and signed up his boys for Team 2 and then invited a random person to the other team to get the game started.

Hardly seems like farming to me.

I know when my clanmates and I want to practice maps, we start public team games and play whomever joins, which a lot of times is a bunch noobs.

But you don't "invite" the other team-which just happens to be a bunch of noobs-do you?

No.

But are we even sure he invited all four players?

A new recruit is only someone who has completed less than five games. Sadly, the rule does not apply here.

The farming rule is here to protect ?'s, so farming doesn't apply here. My suggestion for anyone who thinks this is a cheap thing to do is to FAMO.

This is CLEARED.

Everyone knew this fell into a gray area that would make this shady but not an offense. This is something that perhaps team CC members should hold themselves to a higher standard on. it just looks bad and if you ask most members, I would think they would find higher ranks inviting low ranks they dont know to games, shady... Good verdict, but a really poor decision by a member of team CC and the way he chooses to gain points...-the black jesus

Well loading teams is an abuse. Seems to me this BS had been a factor in other complaints.

This should be NOTED and if it continues then...

C'mon ES. If it was me or most anyone else using this tactic it would be scrutinized more and noted.

Consider that most likely, the only reason this was reported in the first place is because SirSebstar is a mod.

A representative of CC should be held to a high standard. And if you look this thread was not created as a complaint. It was moved to C&A.

was this not the reason why the invite system was changed to show who was invited. so mods could bust for it.

i wasn't aware of this... is this true, eddie? regardless, i hope he was spoken to behind mod doors to suggest that he no longer practice this gray/area rule violation...-the black jesus
