1. Really, what gift failed that we can't explain, besides Mr. Squirrel claiming to have Jailkept ga7 on night 1? 2. Interesting, are you sure that your gift hasn't been claimed by some people and you are just not putting the details together right? One possibility is the one scum mate could have received a gift and for some reason they decided that they would have someone else claim it to screw with us or something. Or maybe they can steal gifts. However, that seems rather stupid on their part. Once we get a few days in. we should be able to figure out which gifts we have even with the any screwing around the scum have done. For example. Say that you gifted as follows: Night 1 Haggis Night 2 TAILGUNN3R Night 3 Fircoal. Then you look back and day 4 and see that only one gift was claimed by TAILGUNN3R and night 2 and Fircoal on night 3, but on night 1 that gift was claimed by aage, not by TAILGUNN3R. This would then seems to tip you off that aage may have stolen or otherwise that gift. So, I guess that while the scum could have the ability to steal gifts, it seems like if they do so, they won't claim have received that gift in the thread, or risk being found out in the long run. Or something, I think I am not being at all clear in my thoughts here...

safariguy5 wrote:Here's a thought, maybe the mafia can gift their kill that compels the person to pick a target (like a SK). Certain gifts I think would not be mafia gifts (bandages, library card) since once scum figured out what they have, they would probably not send those out or just send them to each other. It's an interesting point about the box of caramels that I got because nobody mentioned votelessness before today, so either that gift wasn't sent out or / just forgot to include that in the vote count. If naxus really does have the mason gift, that could be both good and bad. It could help town get some good night communication, or it could lead to town-scum mason pairings. Right now, I'm not seeing another good lynch target and it appears that whoever got the library card didn't get a guilty result.
If someone did get the card and got innocent then that's no reason to remain silent. Whoever is the library card gifter thus sent the card to a member of the mafia and can now claim the card, and a mafia member.
A towny that got the card and used it, but remained silent about the result, is a bloody stupid towny. Pardon my language.

Did you guys forgot the whole part where kwanton got the cop and tracker roles but was blocked and TAILGUNN3R later revealed that he used the jailkeeper on him?

Which gift are you exactly talking about?
A hypothetical one. I am not talking about any actual gift or series of events. If you would quote the entire paragraph that that excerpt came from, you would find that it was I an theoretical example that I used to explain how I think that scum stealing gifts and then claiming that they received them or otherwise claiming a gift that was not actually sent to them could come back to bite them in the long run.

I think it's more likely that the roles were sent out randomly, and not just because I think it makes more sense. Have a look at what clues we have thus far:
Mafia: Commuter
Town: Kill, Vote Steal
These roles don't line up with the traditional faction associations. What does it benefit scum to give out a power that allows people to avoid their attacks? Likewise with the town roles. A kill is one that could go either way (although that does lean scummy, but if we assume scum have their own kill it's not a stretch), but the vote steal is really what sets it off. Stealing another player's vote is not a pro-town thing to do, and neither is enabling it. If we also take into consideration /'s indifferent view of this game's balance...
/ wrote:4. If the roles are unbalanced, that's totally your fault.
...then the notion of him being deliberate in who gets what role seems somewhat unrealistic.
naxus; 3 votes: pancakemix, safariguy, kwanton, spiesr 11 alive, 6 to lynch Deadline Saturday. Be sure to get your gifts in!
Do we want to pursue a lynch on this? I haven't seen any better candidates and the possibility for scum masons worries me.
If you don't trust the guy you're talking to, then don't talk to him?
What is so worrying about this?
Because the point of being a mason is to trust the other person and possibly formulate some kind of plan. With this power there is zero reason to trust the person you can communicate with. That makes it kinda useless. And even if you DO feel like you can trust them, what if you're wrong?

Oh, so there's a possibility scum gets this power?
Should we now lynch the doc too?
Seriously, I do not at all see your point in lynching him.

Then maybe you ought to go back a few pages and read what I wrote there. I have yet to see how my arguments are invalid. All I'm saying now is that temporary mason powers can contribute little of value, if anything. If you think otherwise, I'd be glad to hear why.
naxus wrote:So your reasoning is that even though I'm town I should be killed because Im the best candidate?
Did I say I thought you were town? I don't think I did. I acknowledged that you're giving out mason powers, but where does that leave us? I see no value in the power as I have already explained, so it's certainly no cause to spare you (not that it would be otherwise). In addition, you've made little effort to defend yourself, and when that little was countered you threw your arms up in despair.
naxus wrote:So your reasoning is that even though I'm town I should be killed because I'm the best candidate?
If we knew that you were town you would hardly be the best candidate now would you? At this point you appear to be the scummiest player. Your attempts at defense have done nothing to change my mind about this point. While pancakemix's case against you has tended to get distracted by largely unimportant points and thrown up a few poor arguments, the base of it is still valid, in my opinion. When it comes down to it, at this point in time we are not going to come up with anything else before the deadline. You have made your defense, and it wasn't that inspiring. Now we just need people to show up and decide if we will finalize your lynch, or leave your fate up to the whims of the mod.
Vote: Naxus I'm with Pancaken00b. His power isn't useful at all and he is the scummiest player as of yetzel. I do'nt really see anything that we lose by offing himzel.

I don't know what I see any more. Instead of making a case you've decided to make a best worst case lynch? Seriously, what the hell is wrong with you people?
Well, I haven't seen strong evidence to prevent a lynch should one come on naxus. Him not being entirely truthful about his gifts, intentionally or not doesn't sound townish to me.

What do you mean, untruthful? As far as I know, he knew nothing about his gift until Skoffin and Tails claimed it.
Basically you guys know my position that in general a non-rushed lynch is better than a no lynch. The case on naxus is pretty flimsy however aage defending him more than he's defending himself is really bothering me.
1. When you're town about to be mislynched you aren't this apathetic(at least I'm not), he almost seems resigned to his fate, like Commander in Buffy. 2. I don't recall aage ever acting like this. Don't you usually support lynch over no lynch? Especially since it's not rushed, or made on an inactive.

The case on Naxus is that he is inactive, and his defence was lousy. I actually don't recall Naxus not being inactive in a game so imo that case is as weak as any.
naxus; 5 votes: pancakemix, safariguy, kwanton, spiesr, fircoal, haggis 11 alive, 6 to lynch a deadline has been hit Half of town called for naxus' death, half did not especially naxus, the tiebreaker vote sounded like "mhfffmhmomnom" so they ignored him. Naxus was brought before the ceremonial alter of divine intervention, A.K.A "That old electric chair in the prison nobody remembers to pay the electric bill for" his fate hinged on whether anybody in town had paid their income taxes yet. he was lead into the room where pancakemix flipped the light switch on "There's no light..." he said toggling it on and off. "That proves nothing!" said kwanton "the light-bulbs haven't been changed in years" Spiesr and Fircoal strapped naxus in, and Haggis_McMutton flipped the switch to find.....
That morning Pancakemix was dragging along a long oddly shaped package, as it scrapped against the stones on the ground the wrapping shredded revealing rope with a loop around the end. "is that a hangman's noose?" asked a hidden figure Startled pancakemix turned around "No..... it's just for tying up.......people.." he awkwardly replied "Oh, well that's okay then." "it should be useful so you don't move around too much when I'm shooting at you *name omitted*" "huh? what?" said pancake while looking around "oh wait..." he said as he looks down at his own shirt "You're mistaken, I'm pancakemix, see this is just a name-tag" "All the evidence I need!" said the killer, firing a gun; hitting pancake in the leg Pancakemix tried to crawl away, but was tangled in his gift and could not escape.
"Why does everyone try to lie about their name when they are about to die?" Wondered the killer as he left the scene.
Pancakemix, Town roleblock gifter, has been killed Day Four begins! With 10 alive it takes 6 to lynch
