I don't believe that logically follows, actually. Based on how the numbers are derived in each method, there should be no more likelihood of a streak with either method.
But what using auto-attack DOES do that hampers you is that it takes away your opportunity to say "this is going to shit, I need to stop now while I still have a numbers advantage". That can be a bad thing.
Woodruff is correct. It is possible that you could hit a particularly bad set of numbers when pressing auto-attack, but statistically it is no more likely than if you did the rolls one at a time.
