I think I prefer this one.
In heaven... Everything is fine, in heaven... Everything is fine, in heaven... Everything is fine... You got your things, and I've got mine.

It's very cartoon-like and very busy.

I don't think it's bad, I just don't think it suits this map.

You could just tone down the colours so they're not so bright.

I don't think its good, but its caused by your font choice and colors. Pick colors that aren't quite as bright and a more serious font and the map will look better I think.

Darker might help. I don't really know, you'll need to expriment. Is that a pink continent next to a red one down the bottom?

Nothing about this map really says that it's a map of France apart from the title and shape of the actual map. I think it'd be nice to see you try and capture some sort of French spirit or theme for your map.

What again???

Why isn't Corsica included??? I cannot believe we have a second map of France in the making without Corsica...

It's like making the map of a country and leaving out 1/4 of it.

It is possible to put Corsica in if you plan ahead. And you asked why...the answer is because it is part of France!

A few suggestions:

Change colors around so similar coloured continents arent near each other
Shrink font and army shadow size

Here's my thoughts on playability:

Yellow, Red, Orange, and Hot Pink (the one in the bottom right corner?) are all fine for now.

Move the border between Orne and Manche up just a tad on the left side, to make it clear that Manche does NOT border Rennes (I'm assuming it already doesn't, so that's just clarity not any change in the borders).

Put an impassible border across the entire north side of Paris, cutting it off from Eure, Oise, and Aisne. This also reduces the total borders for the pink region to 3.

Put an impassible border all the way around Indre and Cher (Indre should only border Loiret and Cher now, Cher no longer borders Creuse). This reduces the total borders for the blue region to 4. Both of these together should reduce green to 4 borders.

Extend the mountains between Drome and Gard so that Lozere no longer borders either.

Add an impassible border along the south edge of Dordogne and Lot (Lot now only borders purple territories, Dordogne still borders Charente but not Aquitaine). These two together should reduce purple borders to 5.

This should make all the outside regions holdable, the two in the middle very hard to hold but not impossible if you or a teammate hold a neighboring region.

We'll see how it looks after that and talk bonuses.

Gameplay

Normandie: Can easily be reduced to 3 borders by taking Paris, lower bonus to 4
The south is too easy to hold. You could have 2 borders to defend by grabbing Limousin, Pyrenees, Med and the Drome territory; expansion is way to easy there. I suggest oppening up Dordogne to Charente.

Graphics

Looks to much like a cartoon, which i dont think is appropriate for ths kind of map. Change the fonts to a more formal one. Also, I do not like the couloured glow for the words in the legend. Army shadows look to big.

smaller. This looks like the size of the small map. Anything between 20x20 to 25x25 should be good.
