Change the colors so that they don't have different shades. It confuses me. Especially the colors for New England.

The only war fought in 1812 that would be worth doing is Napoleon's invasion of Russia.

can you find colors that look more New England-1812, and less New Jersey-1980?

And how much of this region actually saw any action in the War of 1812?

My thoughts exactly. I voted yes assuming it would be Napoleonic

I don't see the appeal here.

Could you just stick to one map at a time Unit_2. You've got all these drafts floating around the foundry, why not just pick one or a new idea again (preferably a better idea) and actually put some work into it.

I think what people are saying is The usa v canada 1812 war doesnt interest them, but the 1812-Napoleonic war does.

Very cool idea. I was thinking a Midwest map or the "Battle for the Big Ten" would be interesting to play, but exploring the region in terms of a crucial conflict makes it extra-intriguing. The comments about the colors are dead on, unfortunately, but it's an excellent start.

Just because I don't like the idea doesn't mean you shouldn't go ahead with it. It's just my opinion after all.

If you plan to continue with this idea you need to put a lot of work into the graphics. Nothing about this map at the moment says it's supposed to be focused on an old war, start with some new colours like a few people have mentioned already.

Isn't this just a map of the North-America/Canada region? Seems like that to me (a European).

I live in Stoney Creek, Ontario, Canada

The battle of Stoney Creek, was one of the major turning points in the war. Five hundred Canadians defeated 5000 Americans!!! As Canadian, living in Canada and working for the State University of New York, we (faculty) spent a lot of time discussing the War of 1812, of which the final battle was the Battle of New Orleans in 1814, AFTER the Treay of Ghent was signed in late 1813.

Major battles included Chrysler Farm in Eastern Ontario, Stoney Creek, Queenston Heights, and Lundy's Lane in Ontario, Lake Champaign (near Plattsburgh) and Lewiston in New York, and Detroit. Canada also had raids on Washington, burning the white house, and requiring the Americans to fix and then paint it ... WHITE! thus it is not the White House, and New Orleans. Numerous other battles including Montreal, Fort York (Toronto) and Kingston.

The map is a good start, but I would keep it to the battle areas, and include the major battles on the map. Bombardment of Washington and New Orleans.

just my thoughts
