Went to a neurologist about my legs. Bad thing is, he had never seen anything like it before (think of your knees buckling on you, but for hours on end, and now 24/7 for me). So we're going to do some tests over the next few weeks to see what can be done. As of right now, I don't drive (last time I did when my legs were doing this, I had very little control of them, so kind of scary), I can't stand for very long, and my balance has just about gone to hell in a handbasket.targetman377 wrote:where is everyone? what did you all do this weekend? i got drunk last night played beer bong toked it up a bit this morning i cleaned my apartment and dug my car out of 2 feet of snow!
Is it cos you keep hurting them? Or inherent?muy_thaiguy wrote:Went to a neurologist about my legs. Neither. I haven't been doing any martial arts or the type for almost 2 years, and NO one in my family has ever had something like this. The weirdest thing, is that it first started 2 hours after I got a cortazone (spelling?) shot in my shoulder. And the worst thing is, the shot did nothing itself to help the shoulder (been having problems with it since August). Right now, it kind of sucks, as this is REALLY eating into my day to day life, not to mention my social life.jonesthecurl wrote:Is it cos you keep hurting them? Both knees. And I have not injured them, and I have no control over them when they buckle on me. I have tried to stop them, but even when locked up, they still try and go out on me. I've already been to a bone and joint specialist and a regular doctor.targetman377 wrote:wait what a neurologist? really? for your knee?muy_thaiguy wrote:Went to a neurologist about my legs. i have had an emg 2 twice on my brain. i did not know they did it for knee's too!muy_thaiguy wrote:I already said he had never seen anything like it. We did have some MRIs of my brain, which showed up fine. But they were taken in between these episodes, so take it for what it's worth. But I am scheduled for some sort of test that involves using small amounts of electricity being zapped into my knees. I think it's call an EMG.
Yep. They do something similar when doing physical therapy after knee surgery, but it is to stimulate the muscles and help them out to a degree.targetman377 wrote:i have had an emg 2 twice on my brain. i did not know they did it for knee's too!muy_thaiguy wrote:I already said he had never seen anything like it. Do keep us informed. Firstly of course cos we are on your side. Secondly cos it's intruiging.muy_thaiguy wrote:Yep.
