I was so psyched going in to the theater (we even drove a half hour at midnight just to go the opening), but once I was in the theater, I just couldn't connect with the film. Sin City was an amazing movie because of the interesting characters -and- the visual style. For this movie, I felt like it was a whole lot of pretty, with some woefully underdeveloped characters to drive it.
300..is about a battle between thousands of persians and 300 spartans right?
then how'd they fit nudity and sexual content?
oh..ooh..oh hell no i'm not gonna watch the movie if it's from THAT

Leonidas decides that only spartans with children can fight at thermopylae apparently. Hence the sex. Besides, why would you leave your home without it?

not a myth the battle actaullt happened at thermoplalae but not so dramatically as 300 vs. however many the persians had. the greeks won too
The 300 Spartans got owned after they got surrounded because the Phonicians left their post guarding the back route. Those first few days of fighting in the movie were actually a co-op between the Greek city states and the Athenian Navy was fighting the Persians at sea. When they realized the were going to get surrounded they sent most of the Greeks back to prepare furthur defenses, but about 1000 Thesbians stayed to help. After that the persians got through and burned Athens to the ground, but all the people had evaced to an island off the coast and the navy then lured the Persians into a trap and crushed them. That and a few more land battles made Xerces give up and head home
Matter of fact, this movie makes me want to play the Ancient Greece Map with Sparta and everything. Anybody want to fight my Spartan Warriors, if I get Sparta as one of my random nation starting the game. I will start a game. A private game, so give me a hello and we will play. Freestyle, Standard, No Cards.

Yeah, basically, except there were about 1,000 people on Sparta's side, the people only remember the 300 Spartans. And if I'm to understand this correctly (I haven't actually seen the movie) King Leonidas goes to an oracle to get advice and that's where the sex is.

Heh, well the Greeks won the war, not that battle. The battle was to give the army at Thermopylae as much time as possible to prepare.

advice on what? sex?
No, on what to do. In real life the oracle tells him that he can either live and watch Sparta fall, or he can die defending Athens and the other Greek city-states and save Sparta.
