Noob Questiong about timer.

Postby RoddyVR on Fri Jun 02, 2006 12:09 pm

know a couple players from another forum, and they were talking about this place, so i joined. i love the idea of multiplayer risk without the need ot all be present in same room.

anyway here's my question...
the first game i joined is a sequential turns game and i'm the last player to join, well, there's a counting down time in the game, and its already at something like 10 hours.
what will happen when the time reaches 0?
the first 3 playres did their first turns, but the player before me still has to do his turn, so i cant do mine yet.
will it just skip his turn when the timer runs out and let me do my turn (reset the timer?)
but what if he does his turn 2 minutes before the time runs out, then it'll run out before i can do my turn... it didnt reset back up to 24 hours when any of the other players did their turns.

it probably wont be an issue, hopefully the player will come around in the next few hours and do his turn.... but i just want to stop worrying about it, and knowing what will happen in advance will help...
thanks for any info.

In sequential games the timer resets to 24 hours after everyone's turn. You probably just didn't notice it for the first two people because they took their turns relatively quickly.

The timer will be reset to 24hours if:

A) The player takes their turn.
B) The time runs out for the player to take their turn.

When either of these things happen you can take your turn (within the next 24 hours).

Hope that clears it all up. Oh and if the player misses three turns they get kicked out and their armies turn neutral.

oh, i guess the first 3 players took their turns so quickly together that i didnt even notice that the time had changed, i may have seen the game after the 2nd person took his turn but before the 3rd one did, then when i saw it again like 8 hours later, it was something like 8 hours less on the timer, but actualy must have been off a bit that i didnt bother doing the exact math (time math is always wierd for me)

the way you describe it, makes WAY more sense then the way i was wrongly assuming it was working.

thanks.

Wait, so I have a similar question. These people have 24 hours between their turns, but they still only have 1 hour to actually do their turn right?
