Hey, he's new around here (first post!). Let's read it as his recommendation for the Graphics Stamp.natty_dread wrote:j2_john wrote:I recommend this map (Napolean 1812) for beta testing. Let's play it.Nice try, but it doesn't work like that...
Just taken my first look at this map and looking forward to it immensely, it is a fine piece of work.Raskholnikov wrote:Actually, to debate the curvature of an dotted line arch connecting Sicily to Naples is no less esoteric than the Middle Age attempts to divine how many angels could dance on the head of a pin. Objectively, there is no reason not to move swiftly towards Beta given the quality of the work Kab put in. But of course, if you all desire spending another few months debating the shade of the title and the curvature of a connecting line or the number of millimeters a capital logo should be moved south so as not to interfere with the arch of th Ottoman Empire name.... who am I to say otherwise?! lol
It depends on the songRaskholnikov wrote:how many angels could dance on the head of a pin.

oh there is line never noticed itchipv wrote:Just taken my first look at this map and looking forward to it immensely, it is a fine piece of work.
The line between Sicily and Naples is not clear - it is clear to you because you are already aware of it.
It took me 3 attempts to even notice it, and that's because I read these posts.
I'm not interested in the curvature, just that it is clear that Sicily and Naples have a connection.
Just a quick note, ender, I have not had time to update the XMl Wizard with the new XML changes.ender516 wrote:Just say the word and I'll get working on the XML. It looks like I would be starting from scratch, as I don't see any versions in here so far, but that is not a problem.
That would make a good cross-check, but I think I will try to generate the XML from the map using chipv's Map XML Wizard. That might highlight any places where connections are not clear.Raskholnikov wrote:Ender, would it help if i gave u a list with all territories listed with all their connecting neighbouring territories?
There is no rush to handle the generation of objectives using continents, provided your tool will tolerate their presence if I edit them in by hand. Clearly, this new XML feature is ideally suited to the capitals objective of this map, and I do intend to use the feature. If I have to, I can leave the objective out until all the other wizardry is complete, then add it with a text editor, but it would be nice to be able to go back to the Wizard if the situation calls for it (like, for instance, I have melted the Wicked Witch and have her broomstick ... um, sorry, wrong wizard).chipv wrote:Just a quick note, ender, I have not had time to update the XMl Wizard with the new XML changes.ender516 wrote:Just say the word and I'll get working on the XML. The tool will thus ignore continents within objectives and also not allow to to create them at the moment.
However it will validate XML with the new continents within objectives.
I will add this on demand, so if you do need this, please let me know.
Well, I asked about L'Empire in particular, because the wording in the legend is a little different. In all the other cases you mention, the legend reads something like this:Raskholnikov wrote:Ender,
Question: Do you need to hold France to get the bonus for L'Empire?
Answer: Yes!
In the same way, you need all Ottoman Empire to get the Orient and Bessarabia Bonuses; all Prussia for the Warsaw and Hessen/Saxony Bonuses, all Austria for the Cracow and Illyria bonuses, all of Naples and Sicily for the Rome and Piedmont bonus.
The Rule is: hold the smaller region to get bonuses for expanding into region bonuses.
And yes, welcome and board and thank you for your help with coding!
