And when your wife sees the CC star icon at the top of your internet browser as shes walking by, what do you guys say to her that cools off her hate for CC?

Of course, I don't play 80 games at a time...which probably helps keep the wife calm.
Yet my wife does (quite cruelly I think) sometimes ask "Are you writing more pointless rubbish on CC again?" which while critically accurate, does smart a touch.
I have tried to get her into into CC a bit...but failed completely. To her it is just a bunch of numbers on a map. My father is the same way, yet my mother is a complete CC-freak...absolutely loves the game. So on holidays in France you have the interesting spectacle of the mother and I chatting CC over some good wine, while the wife and father wander off "and leave the crazy people to their silly game."

Youre wife loves CC.
Ive seen you type in here, and you type a lot. I bet she loves that you spend all those words on CC and not her...

I'll tell him about the latest gossip but he doesn't really get it. He used to play the board game with me but now won't even do that. Oh well. He has recently found his own addiction, Words with Friends on his iPhone. He called me up one day and said he found his own "cc".

Mr Changsha wrote:Ha! But I think wives prefer typing to playing. It suggests you are up to something not quite as ridiculous as throwing animated dice at little coloured numbers.
Do you see where you are all going wrong now? Cut the games down, increase the forum posting and you're set.

My wife is the opposite. She doesn't like the playing (but with her blog surfing, parenting forum, and playing lots of Bejeweled Blitz, she can understand). It's the "social" aspect (mostly clan-related, I'm no prolific poster) that bugs her. That and the fact that I have a few clanmates as Facebook friends (again, even though she has some posters from an online forum that she's never met IRL as Facebook friends).
