Pick Your Poison [Winner: Drasill]

Postby Nikita42 on Fri Jan 08, 2010 6:25 pm

So here it is, my first tournament. I've tried to come up with a fun and unique idea for a tournament. I hope everyone who joins has a good time.

Here are the details:

Pick Your Poison

16 players-premium only
1v1
4 rounds

Each round you will play each other player twice, once with your poison and once with theirs. So everyone is guaranteed at least 30 games. 1 point per win, top half advance to next round, points reset each round.
Final round will consist of 4 games, 2 with your poison, 2 with your opponent's. Most points wins.

In the first three rounds, if there is a tie for points the player with the most wins with their own poison moves on. In the final round, if there is a tie, another 4 games with 2 each will be played, if there is still a tie all points for all 4 rounds will be used, if still a tie, the player with the most wins with his own poison over all 4 rounds wins.

Poison (pick one):
1. You play your opponent's home map (they get to chose the map and all settings).
2. You pick the settings except for the map, map will be your worst map based on map rank. Map rank will be run without filters at time of sign up.
3. All random settings. I will use random.org.

If you wish to join, please post below and include a home map and your poison. If you pick poison #2 please include the settings you would like.

Choose wisely.

show: Players

Once all games are sent out you will have 48 hours to join. In first round, I will replace with a reserve, remaining rounds, you will forfeit your games.

Since no one has joined yet I'm wondering if anyone has any feedback. Maybe this isn't a good idea for a tournament. Or maybe I didn't word it very well. Any input is welcome. Thanks.

Give it some time, nice idea!

One thing that I don't understand - how many games do we play at once?

I'm in with poison 3 and Crossword (I had to pick both, right?).

Yes, I need a home map as well including settings you would like (I will update the first post to make that more clear)--although, it may not be used if no one picks poison #1. For the first round, it can be 30, but I think I will split round 1 in half, so 15 games at a time. The next rounds will be a lot fewer. I like playing a ton of games in a tourney, if reduces the luck factor and allows for more play in it as well.

Hmm, alright. I think you need all possible settings because I didn't see anything determined by you.

Crossword, Sequential, Automatic, No Spoils, Chained, Sunny and Poison 3 (should be all?).

Added, thanks for joining. Also, which poison would you like? And for your home map, sequential or freestyle?
