Interesting... The article included this gem: "While managers are allowed to comment on an official's performance, the FA insists any remarks must not imply bias, question their integrity or engage in what could be construed as a personal attack." Does this mean that managers are allowed to make positive comments only? If it genuinely was/is Fergie's opinion that ref's in general don't have a high enough level of fitness then surely he should be allowed to express that opinion. The FA (and the ref's association and the bloody union too!) seem to want to be able to dictate what can and can't be said. In my opinion having rules which ensure censorship and which remove the opportunity of levelling criticism of ref's and officials does much more to bring the game into disrepute than some grizzled old Glaswegian venting spleen could! Besides, Fergie admitted he only came out with that 'cos he was frustrated at how badly United had played that day, do they want him to grovel or what?

I can't see what all the Liverpool fans are complaining about to be honest. They're all complaining when an inanimate object (a beach ball) scores against them, but you don't hear them moaning when their own inanimate object, Voronin, scores a goal.

Its all about money......the fact that Andriy Voronin cost millions and Beach Ball only cost pennies. And the fact that Mr Ball was offside.

the thing is L+M, it's setting double standards. Arsene was sent to the stands the other week for kicking a bottle. Taggart hurled abuse at the 4th official for at least a mintue and he didn't get sent to the stand. now he has to face up to what he said. right or wrong, if he got sent to the stand it would of been the end of the story.
Good point Daz, he should have been dealt with there and then, dragging it out and charging/fining him after the fact is just b*ll*cks! Typical FA in fact...

Taggart indeed
precisely, how is a fine going to hurt him, or even a touchline ban.
to hurt Taggart, you should deduct Man Ure 30 points.
what the f*ck was that. missed pen and 2 og's(3 in the game). it's a good job Sevilla won in Stuggart, gives us an outside chance of qualifying. have to beat Urziceni in Romania though. Scottish football is heading for an abyss. if us and Sellick get knocked out of Europe early again, then we may only get 1 Champs league spot in the near future.
on a brighter note Barca 1 Kazin Ruben 2.
on a weird note, Gareth Southgate got sacked after winning 2-0. they are only 1 point behind Newcastle and WBA. i'm not a Southgate fan, but why now? they should of done it at the start of the season.

Think thats bad, i can see that happening within the next few years. In 10 years, unless something dramatic happens, you will get the same as hungary and so on, a champions league play off leg 1 place, because its heading that way. Every year scottish teams seem to be getting worse and worse. I hope it doesnt happen, id miss scottish teams in the champions league group stages, they provide a will they-wont they scenario rarely found with english clubs.

The thing is whats the difference between this Rangers team and the one that got to the uefa cup final? There are a few changes but not enough to greatly weaken the team, personally i think its a mental thing. And if you played that game 100 times over they would never win 4-1 again, Rangers were pish and they were lucky. Scottish football isn't in as much of a decline as people make out, its just in a bad spell which Celtic will break tonight
My god, am i sticking up for Rangers?

you're very fickle Hugh, jumping ship quickly eh! the rats haven't left yet.
I forgot how it feels to win a big game . They were a good team but they didn't outplay us,I didn't feel under that much threat from them tbh. But they put the ball in the back of the net and we didn't and thats what decides football matches.
On a side note, i have never seen such a large police presense at a football game in my life. Not even old firms, it was unbelievable. They had rangers flags, union jacks, ulster flags were chanting Rangers, we sang back St Pauli at them and a few cries of sectarian songs. Load of nonesense really, but hey what's new.

i watched the Lazio v Villareal game before sellicks game. that was a good match that Lazio stole in the last few minutes(2-1). Villareal were by far the better team, but lacklustre defending cocked them up. the Olympic stadium in Rome looked empty though. probably only 18,000 or so there.
Brentford 2-0 Stockport. Another defeat leaves us just above the drop zone.
Well, well, well...............Liverpool 2-0 Manchester United . I bet Taggart aint happy and Vidic should pretend to be injured for future clashes to save himself the embarrasment .

*sigh* I could whinge on about possible penalty kicks, bookings, sendings-off and such like but I'll follow Fergie's admirable lead and admit (albeit through gritted teeth!) that they were the better side on the day. B*stards. That Carraghers a jammy tw@ though...
under quite a bit of pressure early in the 2nd half by Dundee, but safely through to the semi's.
Man Ure fans robbing a kiosk at Barnsley and throwing bottles and food at the police and stewards. naughty boys. 2 dickheads jumped on the tracks to stop the train that was leaving and got arrested.
