You will pay for that remark
Make it to a bowl game, and I'll apologize.
Tate Forcier is already building a legacy though, eh? He had to lead not one, but two 4th quarter comebacks in this one. First, his leaping touchdown, followed by an 8 yard 2-point conversion run, giving Michigan a 3 point lead, which was immediately erased when the Hoosiers scored on an 85 yard run on their very next possession. So, Forcier marches them down the field again, making the winning throw even collapsing to the turf after a big first down yardage run, and missing the next two plays (while backup true-freshman QB Denard Robinson kept them moving for another first down). So yeah, while the defense sucks, at least the ground work is being laid for what could develop into a truly special offense, led by a special player.

Way too close for me. Georgia won with a field goal as time expired. Also, opinions: Was AJ Green in or out on the would-have-been touchdown? It was terrific body control either way, I missed the key replay on it though the one where I might have actually been able to see which toe touch ground first.

In other news, Cal, UNC, FSU and Penn St. All fall and possibly as crucial as anything Tebow is taken to the hospital after being hurt in the third quarter. Anyone know the latest on his injury? I wish the best for Tebow.

I sure hope it's nothing worse than a concussion, it was a nasty sack. As he went went over backwards thhe back of his head struck one of his own players knee and his head and neck went forward. Tebow was old cold on the field, but eventually walked off under his own power. After sitting on the sidelines, he got sick and was placed on a cart and taken to the hospital for further treatment and observation. Speculation is the nausea of the concussion might have made him sick or the flu bug he had been fighting this week. That's all there is reported on his condition so far.
Meanwhile Houston scored the final 10 points to sneak past Texas Tech 29-28 and Stanford beat Washington 34-14.

Yes it's always awful when something like that happens. I don't wish that on any player no mantter how much I may hate them or their team or both and I especially don't wish it on a player like Tebow who I have a lot of respect for as a person and what he's done as far as being charitable goes. Like you said a nasty hit, probably among the nastiest I've seen in college football this season.

It wasn't the biggest hit I've seen,Tennessee/Florida and Penn State/Iowa definitely had an abundance of slobberknockers, but the way Tim Tebow went down was about as awkward as it could be.
Speaking of Iowa, their defensive line was really impressive and pretty much stole the show and came up with big plays all night long against Penn State. The punters on both teams were also huge in that one as field position became a big factor after the Nittany Lions opened the game with a 79 yard touchdown reception.
My condolences to Mississippi State, who played one helluva game and know they had LSU on the ropes but just couldn't put them away.
Who are those guys in Oregon? They certainly dominated a Cal team that people thought might be the best of the PAC 10 this year. That was an impressive shellacking... Maoli goes 21 for 25 and in spite of two gift fumbles to the Golden Bears, the Ducks rolled up 500+ yards and blew right past Cal.

Actually, I looked at it again. from teh angle I originally saw it from it looked a lot worse.
Was it oregon or Oregon St. that lost to boise? It was oregon wasn't it?

Boise State won their home opener the first weekend of the season 19-8. The Broncos dominated that game and with no big time opponents left it's to BSU's benefit to see Oregon do well from here on out.
the new AP Rankings 1. Florida 2. Texas 3. Alabama 4. LSU 5. Boise State 6. Virginia Tech 7. USC 8. Oklahoma 9. Ohio State 10. Cincinnati
I can't imagine Boise State beating the four teams above them or the four teams below them. The biggest problem for BSU is that they just don't play as tough a schedule and only the Top 3 seem to be living up to expectations so far.
Then again with the way things are going, if Florida, Texas and Alabama don't run the table this may be Boise State's title game year. It's also quite possible that some sort of parity has been reached with more talent spread around the NCAA making all these teams actually better than ever, with more upsets by unranked and BSC busters lurking in the shadows.
#1 Florida and #2 Texas both have byes this week, but there's still some big games coming up this Saturday.
#3 Alabama @ Kentucky #4 LSU @ GeorgiaI think this one should be close UC Davis @ #5 Boise State #6 Va Tech @ Duke #7 USC @ #24 Cal #8 Oklahoma @ #17 Miami #9 Ohio State @ Indiana #10 Cincinnati @ Miami (Ohio) SMU @ #11 TCU #12 Houston @ UTEP Arkansas State @ #13 Iowa #15 Penn State @ Illinois #16 Oregon @ Washington State #21 Mississippi @ Vanderbilt #22 Michigan @ Michigan State #25 Georgia Tech @ Mississippi State Auburn @ Tennessee South Carolina State @ South Carolina Arkansas @ Texas A&M at Cowboys Stadium, Arlington TX Washington @ Notre Dame Florida State @ Boston College Wisconsin @ Minnesota
Georgia does have the potential to beat LSU if they can get both their defense andd offense playing well at the same time something they haven't done all season.
Miami-Oklahoma should be a good game. Just because VT beat up on Miami doesn't mean they're a bad team.

After watching Mississippi State come up six inches short of upsetting the Tigers last Saturday I think your Bulldogs have a great shot at taking this one. It shouldbe another classic game between two SEC heavy weights.

Yeah I've been looking at both teams and they're both classic examples of teams that have the potential to be great but can't seem to find the consistency they need to suceed on either side of the ball. If Georgia can keep LaFell (is he supposed to be injured? I can't remember) and the Tigers passing game from gashing them too badly, I'll give them the edge. I agree it should be a great game to watch.

It's been a long time since LSU has won in Athens, some might figure they're long overdue. The Bulldogs are off to a stupid start with a beautiful interception negated by the decision to run it out of the their own end zone... to the two. The only good thing happening with Georgia in the first half was the score and they took advantage and turned it around in the second. But what a load of crap at the finish and a horrible way to lose a game. EXCESSIVE PENALIZATION! Referee interference totally impacted the game. Unbelievable that LSU barely escaped with wins two weeks in succession.
Kentucky played Alabama tough, but gave it away with turnovers and Michigan State absolutely dominated Michigan in their rivalry, but turned the ball over enough to keep the Wolverines in it.
Michigan drove the length of the field to score a TD with two secs left and down by 1 kicked the extra point to send it into OT. Considering how the Spartans dominated play, I would have had to consider going for a 2 point conversion to steal the win. Final score MSU 26 UM 20.
Very surprising that Iowa had difficulty putting away Arkansas State.

The refs were awful in that game but the big problem came with the winning touchdown run. Can you say horrendous tackling?
LSU didn't play horribly but at the same time Georgia gave them the game at the end. All I can say after being at the game is there was about 23 seconds of celebration...and everything else was just crap.

In other brief news, Miami beat OU ending whatever was left of the Sooners National Championship hopes. And Auburn remains unbeaten, doing just enough (yet again) to overcome their opponents. I imagine Miami will find themselves back in the top 10 or just outside the top 10 and Auburn will end up ranked.
In other news, looks the the Pac 10 is building up for a USC-Oregon showdown.
Maxleod wrote:Not strike, he's the only one with a functioning brain.
oVo wrote:Stanford is also unbeaten in the PAC 10... although Washington is likely the most improved team in Division I Football this year.
also Texas A&M failed in their first real game and UTEP knocked off #12 Houston and the ACC did well against the SEC & Big 12.
Miami did very well against a very talented Sooner team. However, Georgia Tech beating Mississippi St. (right now the second worst SEC team just ahead of Vanderbilt) 42-31, I don't find impressive at all. I'll admit Mississippi St. Is much better than they were last year but they're still in the lower plateau of SEC football. Unfortunately, if Georgia can't get their acts together and play more consistently on both sides of the ball than they are going to fall into the mediocre portion of the SEC.

oVo wrote:That's good, maybe Wyoming can extend their win streak to four, since New Mexico has yet to win a game this season either.
And then we play Utah and BYU (don't quote me for that order though). A thing to note though, we have one of the fewest turnovers in the nation (3rd I think), and 3 of the top 20 defensive players (I forget which positions) with one ranked 10.
Mississippi had LSU on the ropes last weekend and should have won it, while Georgia certainly had their opportunities today. Next week Florida will be in Baton Rouge, which promises to be another SEC thriller and we'll see if the Tigers have any more magic left in the tank.
Wyoming Cowboys' NCAA Team Stats (out of 120 teams) Total Offense 98th - - Points Scored 109th Total Defense 106th - Points Allowed 91st
Wyoming Cowboys' Mountain West Conference Stats (out of 9 teams) Total Offense 8th - Points Scored 8th Total Defense 8th - Points Allowed 8th
Wyoming Cowboys' Remaining Schedule New Mexico Lobos (0-5) Air Force Falcons (3-2) Utah Utes (3-1) #20 Brigham Young Cougars (4-1) San Diego State Aztecs (2-3) #11 Texas Christian University Horned Frogs (4-0) Colorado State Rams (3-2)
To their credit Wyoming held Texas to just 41 points, which is under the Longhorns' average, but on the flip side Colorado beat them 24-0 and might just be the Buffaloes only win this year. The three teams the Cowboys defeated have a combined record of 4-11 and after next week the schedule gets a lot tougher.

http://web1.ncaa.org/football/exec/rank ... &year=2009 Yes, it will get tougher, however it is still Dave Christensen's first season as Wyoming's head coach. It terms of turnovers in comparing this year to last year, Wyoming has improved quite a bit. As those were killing us. And looking at the now updated statistics, we are ranked 8th in the nation, tied with another team. A Isaid, that is a huge improvement in itself.
