You might want to consider excluding certain maps from future rounds - the one that comes to mind is Pearl Harbor. It's just not a good map for 1-on-1 games, it is virtually impossible to win if you go second.

if we get stuck with pearl harbour and go second then just be thankful you still have six games that you can win if it's that severely crippling. for heads up matches the drop determines a lot of games regardless of which map it is. sometimes crappy dice will balance out a favourable drop but heads up is a crap shoot a lot of the time, just have to make due with that you're given.

I may run tourneys with specific maps, but for this series it is totally random. This is why I did the 4of7. Still with this level of player, if you have the bad luck of going second on a big map, that is just what it is. Not many times will you over come that type of luck in a single game. Hopefully the 4of7 thing evens out, but the unfortunate random luck can sometimes destroy any chance of advancing.
