WORLD CUP 2010 1 on 1 tourni all games standard , sequential
HI folks , this will be my biggest tourni attempt , for the qualifying section you get to choose your home boards , please note that big clunky boards like waterloo, conquer man , pokerclub etc are not allowed , as after 12 completed rounds , the game will be a draw . ( 1 point to each team )
Now , all the world is involved with this , so there will be a lot of players required , but I know the chances of getting over a hundred players to sign up are a long shot , so players will be allowed to pick 2 teams to represent . not allowed the same qualifying section ( eg can't have two teams in Europe)
They will not be allowed to pick two big teams however , the other team must be a minnow ( 1 st round entry in some of the qualifying sections ) BONUS TEAMS ARE LISTED
Eg , you can’t have Holland in the European section and Brazil in South America , it must be Holland and India , Brazil with the Faroe Islands Got it
So how does it work
ASIA
1 st round 34 teams ( home and away )
2 round 8 teams Indonesia plus 7 from 1st round h+a
3rd round 20 teams 5 groups of 4 ( winners and runners up advance ) h+a
Final round 2 groups of 5 ( top 2 in each group qualify for World cup ) h+a
The two 3rd place teams playoff to meet the winner of the Oceania Playoff
AFRICA
1 st round 6 teams 3 advance home and away
2 round 46 teams 12 groups top 2 advance ( note 2 groups will only have 3 teams) home and away
3 round 20 teams 5 grups of 4 ( 5 group winners qualify for world cup along with best runner up home and away
Europe
8 groups of 6 teams group 9 has five teams home and away
Group winners qualify for world cup
The best eight runners up will pair off and 4 advance to the world cup
Please note , the groups 1-8 will have their scores against the teams which finish bottom removed so that they have the same games as the runner up from group 9 , the worst placed team will then drop out
North America / cent / car
1 st round 22 teams h+a 11 advance
2 round 24 teams h+a 12 advance
Round 3 3 groups of 4 winners and runners up advance
Final round 1 group of 6 top 3 qualify for finals 4th place team playoff against 5th place team in South America
SOUTH AMERICA
1 group of 9 teams h+ a top 4 qualify for finals 5th place team playoff against 4th team form Central section
OCEANIA
1 ST ROUND
2 groups of 4 group winners and best runner up advance to meet New Zeland in a group of 4 .
Winner of the group will then playoff against the asia section
WORLD CUP
As the world cup is in South Africa this time , the finals itself will played on the Africa board
32 teams will qualify , 8 groups of 4 , top 2 in each group will go the last 16
you will play only once against your group opponents
from the last 16 onwards , it is a straight knockout
