Incandenza wrote:So cairns, if you want someone to be mad at for the continuation of one of the two remaining games, it's Gilligan. He was faced with three options: he could do nothing, in which case I would win and the game would end (I had all 4 objectives), he could take all 4 objectives from me and try and win himself (very doable, as he has by quite a large margin the most armies, and it certainly would've made the game much more interesting, the end that much closer)... but instead he picked the third option, just take the lightest-held objective and ensure that the game will continue in its boring status quo for the foreseeable future.

Christ, could lack PLEASE just delete these games?

I did take the objectives... but a turn later cause qwert had a large army sitting in front of one of them... But then someone else took it away from me :-^ ;)

You're right, you did end up making your move. I would classify my interpretation of your actions at the time as "uncharitable", and I apologize...

I'm assuming that there are no more active games going on, as Cairns has asked me to put this map back into the main foundry for due diligence etc. etc.

Right, that makes scence, but umm.... That is not the map that is on the first post. I am very confused.
Edit: Why isn't this in the final forge?

Map V35 is now in the first post. Sorry for that confusion captainwalrus
The map is not in final forge because i think it still needs to be discussed to ensure everything is OK, and also the ensure that it follows the standard stamping processes of the foundry.
Therefore I would say it needs re-stamping for gameplay, graphics, and xml (and the updated xml is not yet written).
I wouldn't want some to say that there was anything untoward going on with this map and its process, given the light of other discussions taking place. ;)

So there is not a block-point where someone can hold the gameplay to ransom.

I'm just curious what happened to this map to cause it to be pulled from play?

The gameplay of the objective was too flawed - not being able to knockout opponents and in any game. At large is was an experiment that failed, so it has to be fixed. :)

unfare I didn't got that game >_>

Any reasoning behind which chopper can attack which chute? I would make te A for the top 4, the B for the bottum 4 or something (but then again, I am a very ordered personality)

rest seems fine, as all your work does anyway :D (yes I want in on another game of this :D)

this new version has already been discussed month ago while games were still running.
it should go live as it is for a beta test as the gameplay is so complex no one could says how it will really work
as now we have the beta feature we can change the gameplay while games are running
so we do not risk any situation like the one that just ended

go cairnswk, go
De gueules à la tour d'argent ouverte, crénelée de trois pièces, sommée d'un donjon ajouré, crénelé de deux pièces
Gules an open tower silver, crenellated three parts, topped by a apertured turret, crenellated two parts

cairns, this may be a map that I would need to actually play a couple times, then i would be able to give you more feedback, ok

so, maybe get in out in beta and I will go play some on it, then will post back here if i see any concerns.

I tend to agree with pamona here, at this point I think that we need to see how it plays in a variety of settings.

Wasn't there discussion between the version that was just taken down and version 35? Why isn't that enough, This should at least be a sticky with a graphics stamp, since the graphics haven't changed. It needs a new gameplay stamp, but it appears as if the changes were made to improve gameplay and that has been discussed.
