MSNBC is a Television Station

Post by pimpdave »

And thus not a newspaper.

Start reading a newspaper every day people. Shut up about MSNBC and CNN, just read the news, so that we can always be superior to the mongoloids who actually believe the tripe on Faux News.

Also, you'll save our papers, a truly precious resource. I've had a subscription to the NYTimes since I was 16. I read it every day. Get your local paper!

You know, I've always wondered why many papers, especially the NYT, would want to keep publishing papers when that just leads to more pollution. You'd think news casts and internet news would be more eco-friendly.

News casts aren't more environmentally friendly than a daily paper. There was a study done on this awhile ago. They're about the same, in terms of environmental impact, if memory serves.

The internet probably is, but I can't read off a screen for long. A good in depth article has to be off the page, not the screen. I know that an awful lot of people are the same way, creating more environmentally detrimental waste, in fact, by printing off of printers, instead of reading newspaper, which can be easily recycled or reused (by the fish market!).

It really isn't either. There's a lot of electricity being consumed just by me posting this and you reading it. All these bits travel through a bunch of different computers and routers each of which require a little bit of power to transmit all this data. It adds up. Not to mention that all the hardware that the internet runs on is constantly becoming obsolete and subsequently upgraded.

I guess that makes me thrice as bad for getting news off the internet, tv, and newspapers?

OH SHIT YEAH NIGHT STRIKE! YOU JUST UNCOVERED A WORLD-SHATTERING CONSPIRACY BY LIBERAL NEWSPAPERS TO POLLUTE THE ATMOSPHERE!!!!

Ofcourse, it's nice of you to forget the fact that a google-search and basically any site including this one uses up energy every single time it loads. Unless you believe this is magical energy there is really no excuse to make fun of newspapers producing shit when you yourself do the same thing by just posting.

But then again, thinking about stuff was never your forte.

The only broadcast journalism worth a dam is BBC World News. The best part, no commercials.

Well, considering if I wasn't reading news on online, I would be looking at porn online, the carbon footprint is the same. However, if I don't buy a newspaper that doesn't mean I will buy the same amount of hard copy porn. So that arguement doesn't work. Newspapers kill trees. Plus they are very inefficient....you have to buy the whole thing to get the score of last nights game.

You guys really don't think about things logically do you?

Why are the newspapers failing: unions? lack of readership? higher price of natural resources? What is the carbon tax going to do to the NYT?? Hopefully bankrupt that paper, which would be so ironic Alannis Morrissette could even understand it.

Local newspapers usually aren't very good. Get something that's distributed on a national or international scale.

Wall Street Journal is all I read. If they keep giving Karl ROve and Rush Limbaugh platforms, I may change my mind. Considering Rush is on the radio about 4 hours a day, I don't think he needs the press.
